Theres an annoying Chinese guy who is a regular fixture at the 5\10 game at the local casino he plays like a maniac and is always chasing straights and flushes. He is horrible for announcing his hands, you have to bring a Chewy(his name) dictionary with you to understand what he has it goes like this.
No pair = either a straight or a flush or absolutely nothing Two and a half pair= The worst he has a Full house Three pair= Also a full house Various curses in chinese= He missed his hand and folds with disgust on the river. |

I was recently playing with a bunch of friends, and we decided to ask a friend of ours to play who doesn't play a whole lot. Turns out he didn't have much of an idea of what he was doing so I have A8 and the flop is 882 so I now have trip 8s, and I'm betting and betting, and he's just calling me every bet. After the final bet I show my hand, and he says, "aww man.. I knew you had that third 8. Got me beat.." He shows his hand, and he has pocket 2s. Yea- he had a full house.. we pointed it out to him, and I let him have the pot. I was pretty pissed, but I know, in the long run, I'll be taking his money.

LMAO. The key to players like this is to bleed them slowly. Let them win once-and-a-while, small like a few BB. Then when you do hit them, win twice what you let them take. Repeat this process over and over and he will likely keep coming back for more.

These stories are, unfortunately, all too common.
The ONLY way to go is this: - To contest a pot at the showdown, the entire hand must be placed face-up. Cards will then speak - regardless of what hand the player declared. This is the only way to go. Otherwise, you and your friends will be arguing all night. CF |

especially with all the weird home games i play, showdowns are the best way to go. i cant stand when people misstate their hand, especially when it is purposely done as a slowroll.
i sat next to a guy once playing o8b who continually misstated his hand, then rolled over the nuts. he knew what he was doing too, so thi smade me even more pissed off. |
