Fine questions.
I've done the whole Vegas thing many times before, so it's not like I'm dying to do it all again. This trip is going to be about the WSOP for me - going into it anyway, that's my focus. I doubt I'll even play poker before Sunday (althought I'm sure I could be talking into joining you/others for a while in some sort of cash game somewhere). After I bust out, I'll either play some cash games or maybe get in one of the $1000 or $1500 second chance tourneys - that went well for me last year. ![]() For non-poker, I'm doing NOTHING on Saturday night, but for Thursday/Friday, I'd definitely be up for going out. Hopefully there will be some cool WSOP type parties to go to (UB's was a lot of fun last year), and drinking with a bunch of TPers sounds AWESOME. Really, once I bust out of the Main Event, all rules are off. I'm just planning on playing it by ear, I guess. I have friend who live in Vegas - I'm going to be staying with them for part of the time I'm out there, and I have a room at the Hilton (long story) for Sat-Sat. I'd like to spend some time with them and maybe catch a good show, but really, I'll be up for whatever. As for $$ - I'll put hotel, car rental and lots of other stuff on a credit card, so I won't need cash for that. For poker and daily spending money, I haven't really thought about it yet, but I'll probably only take $1000 with me to start (maybe a bit more) - and as pshabi said, the old ATM card. I don't mind making daily $500 withdraws from casino ATMs - these are good records to help document your "losses" come income tax time. |

I'm a relative low-roller. I mostly hit the 4/8 w/ a half-kill, and/or $200 max buy in NL at the Excalibur (reserving the 2/6 limit spread game for drunken doneying), so $400-$500 or so a day is fine for my poker buy in.
Partying in Vegas is expensive. Every nightclub is $20, not counting greasing the doorman if you want the front of the line. Drinks inside are $8 or so. Strip clubs, also $20 to get in, then $20 a dance. Champagne room, god knows how much. Cabs, restaurants, and the Vegas tip-based economy -- it all adds up pretty quickly. That said, it is worth every penny.

The more I win at the tables that day, the better my night is that night

I just spent $9 on a rum and coke at the rumjungle in Mandalay Bay, and it didn't even get me any drunker. So I would say $100 a night when you throw in supper is a comfortable estimate. So what dates are the most TPers going to be in Vegas?

I'm being a serious as I can be here, if you don't believe me that's fine as well. If you guys have access to internet out there I can give you access to the guy who I get my plays for MLB from.
I can tell you how to know which ones I am on and I KNOW I have made money in the sportsbooks. Look at all of my posts in the sports forum and see if I am telling the truth or not. Take a few extra hundred even and use it for $50 plays on the best games and you will have extra to party on at night. You don't have to watch the games, buy the ticket come back when game is over and cash it, go party. Serious offer, if your not interested that's cool too, but it's on the table.

If that's really that attitude you're taking, should you be selling shares of yourself?

Yes. I'm not stupid enough to think I can PLAN on winning (or even Final Tabling), but I do think I can turn a nice profit.... and you never know. Someone has to win.
