Live Game Tonight...
I used to play in local games here 2-3 times per week. I killed the one game (tourney style) and did ok at best in the other game (the big cash game). That game was a bit shady from time to time, and they raked a LOT of money, so eventually I just quit going. It wasn't worth it to me vs. playing online... not just for the added benefit of playing live.
Well, it's been about a year since I've played now, and I think I'm gonna go back tonight. I'm curious to see what the game is like and how my feelings towards it have changed, if at all. GL me. |

Yay Live Play!
Be prepared for: Standard Raises being bigger ( Cash Games) More players seeing flops "Pot Odds" being the ultimatimum whether to call or fold  Putting your 'reads' to work (and limiting tells) Being able to engage in table conversation!  GL, tell me how it goes

Do ppl get pissed if u come over the top and raise alot in either private games or casino games, or both?

Not at all (maybe drunks at the casino will make a comment sometimes, but thats the furthest extent)
In fact at loose tables you'll often see: blind raises (duh) Straddles (UTG player doubles the Big Blind and then gets to act last preflop....the bet to 'call is now double the BB or the straddle amount) Re straddles (UTG +1 player can double the straddle amount and then go last preflop -- the bet to call is now 4x the BB or the re straddle amount) (this in theory can continue all the way up till the button, who is not allowed to straddle ) Sleepers (A player not UTG places a bet on the table... if everyone folds to him this bet becomes live and he acts last preflop (check or raise option), if there is any action before him his bet is returned) Fun stuff

By "pwning," I of course mean "Losing $500 or so to the table idiot(s) and leaving frustrated after only an hour or two." If I'm posting in this thread again soon, that's probably a bad thing. |

I was playing in a home game for a while with a bunch of "working Actors" 400 with unlimited 500 re-buys nl cash game. Thought it would be a walk in the park.Won some but took a few horrible beats! (didnt know one of them won celeb poker showdown) what a joke. Should have at least killed him.Game now is 1000 buy in 1500 re-buys. Kinda high but these guys have lots o money.Good luck tp hope we dont hear from you in like 3 days due to you arranging a brinks truck to pick up ur cash!!!

Good news and bad news.
I'm home............. but I'm not broke. The game was cancelled (not enough players, I guess) before I got there. Oh well...... So much for my triumphant return to live cash game play. |
