Good point, John. For the record, I'd definitely do some haggling before I decided, but my original thoughts would be in the back of my head.

It's actualy a reasonable offer.... *I* wouldn't take less than $150, but I wouldn't blame someone for taking the $100.

During the negotiations, I'd gently remind me opponent that if I double up just once, it's a whole new ball game, and it's VERY easy to double up Heads Up.

IMO, short stacks generally don't give themselves enough credit when making deals. That's why I'll almost never take a deal as the short stack, but would ive it serious consideration as the chip leader... not because I don't have confidence that I can win, but because I understand that the deal will likely be overly-favorable towards me as the chip leader.

I agree with this 100%

The last live tournament which I "took down" (which was way too long ago ) I was a big chip leader the entire final table...down to 5 handed, I gave a nice chunk to another player away losing a race 99 vs AJ (JJx flop A turn.... thanx) which made him in 2nd.... eventually it was down to me and him. While 3 handed a chop was proposed which I turned down...I then eliminated the low stack. Yet my lead was fairly marginal -- although Id been a leader the entire FT, the 2nd place was gaining on me. I had 70 K he had 55K (I forget what the blinds were -- they werent super intense though). The prize was 1400 for first and 700 for second. He offered me a 1200/ 900 split, which I accepted -- seemed in my favor

My thoughts were torn between Pshabi's original reply and JD's reply. If this had been a regular tournament where I was looking at 2nd place money then no way I take the short end of any deal, I would rather play it out.

Seeing that 2nd place got zilch I was more inclined to take the offer, which I did.

I have enough FPP's to try a couple more of these and if you are familiar with the 27-player SNG at Stars you would be suprised to see how soft this FPP game is. People treat it like a play chip game. Normally they take close to an hour and a half, some longer, these take about 35 mins to the final table.

I think they are less than 1200 FPP's other weeks, they are more this week since the $215 is $530 this week, which would be nice to take a crack at.

Yeah, I came in third in one last night after the really donkish chipleader rivered a gutshot on my flopped top set. All was not lost, though, since I enlightened him to the fact that you can sell T$. I got 500 T$ for 375 real money. Not a bad trade if you ask me.
