I was wondering how we were going to do this. I didn't know if we'd slide the points down (as you did) or if we would simply not AWARD the points for the places that non-mebers finished. Know what I mean?
PErsonally, I think the latter is better. And you know I'm being objective, because it affects my score negatively. I think Zybomb should have scored 0 points, and I should have scored 4.8. NO ONE should have scored 7.2 and the rest should be where they are. Does that make sense? What do everyone think? |

The more I think about it, the more I am sure this is how we should do it (as I described).
Say for some fluke reason we have 11 non-league players and just one member playing. If he decided to push in on the first hand with 72 off and got busted, he should receive 0 points... The way you just awarded points, he would either receive 48 points (for 1st) or maybe even ALL THE POINTS added up. Neither of those can be right. Yeah, so we need to change it. No sliding the points. The points for non-league members that place simply go away (or go on some other "non league" list that we could keep, just for kicks). Cool? |

Ok, I made the changes and updated the standings.
As long as all the players are forum members and there are not a bunch of crashers (pleasant surprise that there have been non so far) playing that could mess stuff up, this should work fine. It will suck if one of us gets 2nd points when a non-league member takes first, but as long as we are consistant it will be ok. If we get a race going between a few non-league members I will add a section in the first post to keep track of their points seperately.

Sounds good. As I've been saying all along, with no money added, I see no reason why we'd get a bunch of crashers. And if the likes of redbank, Boobie, badblood, bdawg, Aeq, etc. want to play - I say let them in!

BTW, this little idea of mine just cost me a position on the overall leaderboard, and didn't affect anyone else (Zybomb's point total didn't even flinch, and he'll be dropping that one anyway).
So you know I'm trying to be fair and do what's best. |
