If you offer someone a chance at playing in a $5 tourney vs a $10 tourney, which do you think most people ( not you rich guys in here ) but the majority of normal people would choose? Well if it was me, and I didn't have the $5 or $10, I'd try to make a quick $5 in order to play in this so called tourney. If by chance, I did have $10 and wasn't such a good poker player, I'd rather try out for 2; $5 tourneys instead of 1; $10 tourney.

Wrong again. When I first came here I had $1.20 in my account! If you had proposed a $5 tourney, I'd have tried my best to turn that $1.20 into $5 in order to play, no possible way of me turning it into $10 in such a short time.

Stars has tables of .1c/.2c, so I don't care if I have .40c or $1 in account. It's still money. I use the money in Stars to enjoy myself. Ever heard of putting money aside for your own enjoyment? Well, I enjoy playing poker, makes me happy & let's me forget about real life stuff for awhile.
I'm not like most women. I won't spend my money on 'girly' stuff like makeup or perfume or designer clothes. But I will save some aside and buy myself the best pair of running shoes or a comfy duvet or some scented candles, to meditate with (and I do alot of meditating, especially when I part this forum!)

Playing poker for real money is another one of my pleasures. I spend enough on bills and rent, don't I deserve some happy money to spend on myself?

I can get a 24 case bottle of Naya water for only 1.99. So that means with $5; I can get 48 bottles. Sounds good to me, I love my Naya.
I'm not much of a fast food person. That stuff will kill you one day. For about $3.75, I can have myself a Hot Grilled Chicken Sub with BBQ sauce @ Subway's. I can have a mmm...Dairy Queen Icecream dipped in chocolate sauce for $4.25.
I can buy myself a new pair of running shoe laces for $2.75 or a wristband for $4.65. I can think of lots of other things worth buying for 5 bucks but I'm sure you get the gist of it.

If you buy wisely, then you can get lots of stuff for $5 or less. That's the problem with spoiled, rich kids today; they don't see or understand the value of $1.

You mean to tell me that if I were to lose all my poker money and I asked you nicely to loan me .40c you'd say no to me? Well, you must be one of those people that crosses the street to get away from the poor woman who's begging for some loose change. No matter how broke I am, I always find some loose change to give out. I've even spared a few bucks in Stars to give to a few friends when in need, and I don't have much! Guess the phrase, "the rich get richer & the poor get poorer," is correct.

So again I ask you, why don't you think we should make this a 5 CENT tourney??? Wouldn't "most people" choose that? I mean, you could play 200 5 cent tourneys instead of just two $5 ones!!!

Certainly. So why is it that you can spend $5 on yourself but not $10? I guess I just don't understand how you draw this line, and why you are assuming so many other people must be in the same boat with you, when to date, ZERO have spoken up, agreeing to your freeroll plan... and that's zero people from THIS forum, let alone the other strangers that you are asking to trust someone here (me) with their money.

I understand the value of $1 more than anoyone. What I don't understand is how you can apparently choose to have one less Dairy Queen ice cream per month so you can play in a tournament, but not two.

I seriously can not believe that no matter how many times I and other people say it, you still think this is a good idea... and more importantly, you still think it's about the $5 and not the dozens of potential headaches and problems!!!

Well first thing, the pot wouldn't be as rewarding. I'd probably have to get close to 100 players involved in it which [(knowing me) I'd succeed in doing,] in order to make it a nice sized 1st place prize.

Well some ppl told me in PM what they thought about it. Nikita voiced me her opinion in PM,too. She doesn't think she'll be in the $10 tourney, but Robb will. Guess you didn't figure on that did you,TP? But see, if it was a $5 one maybe we'd have the pleasure of both of them playing. I guess after all that's been said in here, people don't want to look bad in your eyes TP. Do you really think that after all this, people are going to SAY WHAT THEY FEEL????? I'm not like most, I tell it like it is. And yeah...it hurts like hell to get the feedback of what YOU all think of me; but least I'm honest and say what's on my mind. If you read all the posts you'll see that most said they don't mind either way. I'm thinking they would prefer the $5 one, why wouldn't they? But that's not even the point anymore. I'm replying to posts that are being made in reference to other posts I've made before the one that I said that you won. I'm giving you all my opinion if you don't like it well too effin bad.

I had already spoken to a few of my friends in Stars. Most of them were eager to play in the $5 tourney but thought the $10 one was too pricey. I told you already, my friends have a tourney every Friday night, and hardly anyone shows up, the last time was 13 players, the one before that was only 6 players.

That's what I based my opinion on. I was ready to bring them all here to play on our team, about 7 out of 12 for sure. But now I don't think I'll even bother mentioning it to them, not worth it. If you guys tell me off for my thoughts on this, you'd probably crucify them. Not worth taking the chance losing my friends over.

I serisouly can't believe you still aren't get this this through your head. The problem is not the fucking $5! It has NOTHING to do with the buy in amount and EVERYTHING to do with the your plan to avoid the minimum tourney buy in on Stars. I am NOT going to retype all the reasons people are against your little plan again. I don't know why you aren't getting it, but please proceed to Page 1 of this thread and do some rereading.

This is insane.

And for the record, the minimum amount for a "Freeroll" is $100, so at 5 cents, you'd have to get 2000 people to transfer me 5 cents - not 100.

Try getting this through your head: No one gives a shit how much money you have or don't have in your account.

The way you are being "treated" has to do ENTIRELY with your attitude, your overreacting, your taking things personally, your trying to be a martyr, and the simple fact that I (I won't speak for everyone else) think your $5 fake freeroll idea is a very bad one.

It has nothing - I repeat, NOTHING - to do with the amount of money in your poker account, bank account, pocket, or couch.

If your friends are capable of being rational, logical human beings, and are willing to take feedback when they ask for it, even if it's not what they were hoping for, I'm sure they would be treated very well, just like everyone else here.

You're funny, Rook. In the beginning, you thought you were being treated unfairly because you were a n00b. Other n00bs eventually convinced you otherwise. Then for a long time, you thought you were discriminated against because you were a women. Some of the other women eventually convinced you otherwise. And now, you think it's because you're broke. Hopefully some broke people will step up and convince you that's not the case either (I see Brian is trying).

I wonder what will be next. I'd like to think that eventually you'll realize you're treated just like everyone else, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I come from a family that makes 70,000 dollars a year combined and we live in new york where expenses are high as hell, and like I said I havent received a cent in 4.5 years from them. You'd rather play in two 5 dollar tournies than one 10 dollar one... ok, well why not five 1 dollar tournies instead of one 5 dollar one.... what makes 5 dollars the line? Like I said, if you don't have 10 dollars to play in a tournament, then you dont have 5 dollars... if you do, it needs to be spent on more important things than poker.



So you can turn 1.20 into 5 bucks, but it is impossible to turn it in to 10? Why not turn it into five, then start with 1.20 and turn it into five more and boom ten dollars! I broke the seal! Im not even going to address this further... and secondly, most people who play online poker, have a bankroll. If you (as in one, not you personally)don't, it's not to say you arent wanted here, but the tournaments arent geared towards you -- because obviously since they cost money to get into , the geared toward players with a bankroll.



If you wanted to play in the poker tournament for 10 dollars and it meant you'd be missing a meal, you shouldnt play. In addition you shouldnt play in a 5 dollar one. You also shouldnt be buying ice cream at dairy queen with your only spare 5 dollars... nor should you be eating at restaraunts at all -- since it's all about the value of a dollar, you should be buying food and preparing it at home,which saves you a ton of money...you shouldnt be buying a wristband for 4.75 -- and if it's between poker or a wristband, make a choice!

Rich spoiled kids dont know the value of a dollar? A dollar has no value anymore in todays society, a damn soda costs more these days. You can get a bag of chips, a candy bar or a pack of gum for under a buck, thats pretty much it. Ive been working since I was 15, including 40 hours a week while going to college -- so i dont wanna hear a word about spoiled.

10 dollars is one hour of work or less , and i mean real work, not poker, if you dont have a spare 10 bucks to play then you dont have a spare five bucks to play period

I love how you draw the obvious line from my statement into what i would do about a poor lady. If you needed .40 Id wonder what the hell for, but i would give it to you... but do you mean to tell me you dont have .40??? Or you just dont feel like depositing money? Theres a huge difference there. If you really didnt have .40 id give it to you, not ask for it back, and tell you that you shouldnt be playing poker for real money if u dont have a spare .40.

Brians analysis is 100% correct also. Only 3 type of people beg for money, addicts, underage (14) kids and free money players. I want neither of the 3 around here.

Oh the rich do get richer and the poor do get poorer by the way... but not for the reasons you're referring to.... it often has to do with rich peoples drive vs poor peoples laziness... not in every situation, but in general. Also the fact that you need to have money to make money is a huge part of it as well.
