In your example with the straight, I would of checked and then called any bet he made (reasonable bet that is) by firing 40, you risk being raised and either not showing down, or calling a raise.... I guarentee you his bet on the river wouldnt have been much more than 40 anyway -- u could of paid the same price to showdown
In the AK hand, you played it correctly, you checked back the turn and then called the river (as you had to) Nice Report
