The problem is a lot of players are unwilling or unable to identify their own weaknesses, and sometimes the exploiter becomes the exploitee. Take notes on yourself as well and try to stay unpredictable at the table, not falling into patterns, or else you will be subject to others notes.

How Rioght you are Geoff.

Its only lately, I have requested hand historys after playing in tournaments and studying them I have found were I have played so pradictibly and were the same player has picked up on this and of course beat me.

Study every tourny you enter and see were you went wrong and important decide how you can change this.

I have postit notes attached to my PC with little reminders on them.

Jim.

AT. Funny you mention this hand in particular.... because according to Poker Tracker a couple of months ago, out of ALL the different hand combinations, this one (ATo) costs me more money than any other! Keep in mind I play short seated... but I was still amazed when I realized this. I immediately changed how I played it, and am happy to say it is no longer my biggest loser.

No longer your biggest loser because you're scared to play it! I had PT for a while... my biggest loser was KK. I must have ran into either AA or two pair 5-6 times and I lost mucho dinero.

That's why I don't play KK anymore.

A-10 = A-x

Keep that in mind.

In short-handed play it can be a good hand, yet can also get you into alot of trouble.
about all this hand is good for is flopping trips, flopping a straight, or if suited a flush or flush draw.
Other than the nut flush draw, there are really no decent draws for this hand.
In a full table, this hand is essentially garbage.
I will put a raise in if I'm looking for the blinds, but most of the time I simply muck it without hesitation.
Just my opinion.

I have busted out of more tourney with A10 than any other hand. I like to limp with this hand if it's soooted and if nobody else raises and an ace flops it's probably good, I still wont push with this hand , I just try to pick up a small pot. If I do make mthe nut flush or broadway str8 thats another story then if the boards not paired and no flush likely it's balls to the wall trying to get as many chips as possible. On another note that I should have mentioned in the tourney strategy thread is that when you make a big hand you have to learn how to make ppl pay you off, if that means slowplayin or pushing right off the bat. That's when your table image and you observations on opponents really comes into factor. Being able to have players pay off your big hands is essential to winning.
