Sadly, I don't think Hellmuth plays it up much for the cameras. Laak does though (although not as much as you might think - it comes naturally for him).
Why do people do this? Simple. Increased recognition = Increased Marketability = Increased $$$. |

also they get more people gunning for them which can be a good or bad thing.
Like I hear alot of people say, 'I would love to beat Phil Hellmuth because he cries all the time'. So he gets more people playing pots with him which can be a good thing for him because he is one of the best and will get his money in with the best hand 99% of the time. |

I agree with oma on this one, seems like it is true that they have wild and crazy anticts if none other than to draw the attention to them, *that is one guy I want to put out* mentallity and maybe some one will play a hand against them more because of whom they are playing the hand against than really having a hand they should be playing.
