Right... Because Boston was well on their way to winning a Cup this year?
Or next? Or the year after that? They saved $1,6 mil on the cap which makes it a great trade... They are in the "pre"Re-building stages... Expect some hard times in Beantown. When Thornton left he was quoted as saying: "I guess I was the problem" sarcastically refferring to the Bruins horrid season thus far and recent slump. Didn't Boston WIN Thornton's first game out, and the 3 newbies first game in?

You can't judge a trade by 1 game. At face value, this is a horrid trade. Boston's #1 centre now has 0 goals so far this season (Zhamnov). Bottom line, they traded their best player and certainely could have gotten much more in return.
