Default Ok

here is what we got so far, its far from final but thought id get a clean post about it.

Buy in for league most likley is gonna be $5 or $10 for entry to league.

games will be held on stars and all tornies will be pay tornies, I really dont want TP putting any money into this. The guy has paid enough about time he got a break in my opinion. If he wishes to put something up at end of league for the top 6 people in league to play for thats fine.

I would like to alternate the buyins for the tornies but I think the lowest buy in tornies at stars are $10 is this right or can you also do $5 ones anyone know?

hold-em seems like MOST people prefer game so think we should do 2 holdem and one alternate game per week. That would seem fair to everyone.

participation in the weekly games is another story we need at least 2 tables to make the torney go for that day. So at least 20 people need to show up for the game if not the torney should be canceled that day.

anyone got anything else to add to this speak up.

I am interested in how the top players would be determined. I have a really small bankroll (like $30) that I have built up from my original winnings at the freeroll tournament. So if we need to play like 10 tournaments just to be considered, I would be hard pressed to determine if my bankroll could handle it.

(I would have to cash in every tournament I play in just to keep going.)

Also would it matter if say I did play 10 tournaments but they were all NLHE or all the cheap buy ins, ($5-$10)? I guess, do you get more points for a 1st place finish in a higher buyin than you would a lower buyin?

I think we have about all the feedback here that we're gonna get, so I'm going to unsticky these three threads. If somone (do we have a volunteer yet?) wants to run with this, by all means, run...

Id be happy to run it with the help of BB and his graphs. Alot of details to figure out before we try to get this going.

Default Alternate idea...

So, here is my idea for a modification of the league...

Option A: total cost to enter all tourneys-$65

1) 10 events over 8-12 weeks.
2) Each event has a buyin and there for a prize pool. (For example say $5+.50 per event)
3) Each player also puts in a League entry fee. (For example say $10) (This goes to TP via Pokerstars transfer prior to first event.
4) Winner of each event is entered into final tourney for free (out of the League entry prize pool)
5) Final tourney is a money tourney that anyone can buy into (amount based on the number of players entered into the league).

Example
15 league members

event #1
10 people show up.
$50 prize pool (distributed based on normal PokerStars payout structure)
1st place gets entry into main event

event #2
6 people show up.
$30 prize pool (distributed based on normal PokerStars payout structure)
1st place gets entry into main event.

etc, etc

At the end there would be at most 10 players in the final event.
Each got the buyin and fee transferred to them on PokerStars by TP.
Anyone who gets 1st place in more than one would get event still gets another buyin+fee for the main event.

So, for the example, there would be $150 in leauge entry money, so the final event would be $10+$1 ($110 in prize buyins) and the other $40 (or wahtever is extra) would be distributed to the players with the 1st, 2nd and third points as follows:

First Place = 3 points
Second Place = 2 points
Third place = 1 point

ALSO, the main event is an open tourney (at least to TP), so if you didn't win an event (or could not get in because you didn't join the league before the first event started) and still want to play, you can put up the $10+$1 to buy in directly.

Payouts in the main event are standard PokerStars payout structure.

So, say there are 25 people in the league, the final could be $20+$2 and still have $30 left over for the point leaders. Down the road the final might grow to $100+$10 if we can get 110 people in this someday!!

OPTION B: total cost to enter all tourneys-$50

1) 10 events over 8-12 weeks.
2) All events are private freerolls (obviously with strict requirements).
3) $50 is up fron t league entry fee to TP at PokerStars transfer.
4) NO RAKE!
5) Winner of each event is given an entry fee (via pokerstars transfer) for the buyin to the main event.
6) Final tourney is a money tourney that anyone can buy into (amount based on the number of players entered into the league).

The rest is the same ....

Those are my thoughts, not saying it has to be done that way, just another angle on it...

Also, I do like the idea (N1kita's) to have players pick alternates if they can not play (in either the points league or OPTION B above). Option A would not work with that since you would wither have to give someone your account or transfer them money which is just asking for trouble.

Just wondering if we were planning on a larger buy in main event at like the very end, like $5 and $10 and then like $40 or $50 ME?
