i absolutely agree. and tho im still a newbie here, id most definitely remain a regular and frequent contributor here (as well as suffer thru non-stars sites for all those forum challenge thingies) if a *stars-based* league/pvt tourney series of any sort is formed up here. again, could be freerolls, buyins or combo thereof.

almost all forums/sites are scared off from hosting pvt stuff on stars because:

a) stars is not desperate for business unlike all the new, micro poker joker sites popping up all over the place and giving away freerolls galore

b) theyre too small so they dont have enough 'signup/deposit pull'

c) forum owner(s) cant afford/dont want to spare a few bux to set up a league/series of pvt tourneys, as it 'doesnt pay off' (see a-b above)...i understand. business is business

to each their own. i still think that hosting pvt events on stars is probly the best way to advertise one's forum/site short of buying tv/radio time. but of course it cannot put the forum owner at risk of losing all/most of his overall forum profits

What are these "forum profits" you speak of???

LOL... I know most people don't believe me, but I run this site because I enjoy it. Pretty much all the money I make here goes back into the site one way or another. Long term, sure, it would be nice to make some decent money from this place, but for the time being, I'm happy watching a good poker community grow and getting to throw around some money for fun contests, tourneys, TP gear, etc...

Well, you would have had to get to abour 5000 posts anyway, based on the extreme lack of quality of your posts.

Not that it matters for you any more, what with you being banned and all, but for anyone else, a PM is a Private Message. Simply click on the "Private Messages" link in the header to access them, or click on a specific person's username and click "Send Private Message." Pretty simple stuff.

kudos to TP for swiftly sifting away all the riff-raff...this is the first board where ive seen the owner/operator ban obvious freeroll pass chasers/post pumpers outright...

most boards, in my experience thus far, just want(ed) to increase the membership head count no matter what...

so then when same abovesaid pass chasers/post pumpers start selling the passes or simply inviting 200-plus of their friends and family into the forum pvt events and ruining it all for everyone in the process....ooops, we got a problem!

bottom line, u wanna nip all the nonsense in the bud. keep up the good work!

p.s.: IMHO u should just PM the freeroll/pvt events pass to the eligible members, and not post it publicly in the forum at all. it is a little more work that way, but it would keep all the BS at bay.

It will not be posted. Not by me anyway. Distributed by PM only. And if I find out that anyone else posts it or gives it out or sells it or whatever - they will be banned, no questions asked.

The "regulars" can get the password as soon as they "qualify." All noobs (< 50 posts) will have to wait until 30 minutes before the tourney starts to PM me...

i meant to say that ppl who clamor for 'more, more freerolls!' on pvt forums have to be understanding of the simple fact whether the owner can afford/want to open his wallet for them.

however, since u now said u *can/want to*, i say: more, more freerolls!! hehe!

(and better weekly $25 ones than one monthly $100..IMHO)
