Nice laydown?
This was just before the bubble. again, from cardplayer Date / Time: 2005-09-29 11:39:00 Title: Mark Petrillo Folds to Survive the Bubble Log: Mark Petrillo bets preflop, and David "Devilfish" Ulliott pushes all in. Petrillo takes a long time to consider the call, finally saying, "I think we'd be racing," and he folds A-K suited faceup. Devilfish returns the favor by showing pocket threes. It would have been a race situation, but Petrillo would be risking his tournament life on the bubble, and chose to wait for a better spot. Edited to add: So much for the theory that TP would get to play at a soft table for most of the day. Can't wait to hear the Devilfish story. Last edited by Quint; 09-29-05 at 03:27 PM. |

If anyone besides TP makes this fold, the board would be all over them.
Congrats on making the money TP, you deserve it.

You really think so? On the bubble and everything? This isn't chump change.

But right on the bubble like that, I think you fold into the money. $5g is just too much to put on a horserace.
Fantastic job TP. Keep at it. |

Not sure what his stack looked like at that time, but considering his goals; make the money, reach the break-even stage for his backers, etc... it was the right play.
They've passed another bubble already and should be within 45-50 places of the break-even level for his backers. |

This refers to threads of the past. I think laying that down in that situation is perfectly acceptable.
A case could be made for playing it, DevilFish is certainlly known for making a move like this with ANY two cards, putting him on a pair was a good read, hell it was a great read. I do find it funny that he had to make a big decision like this ON THE BUBBLE considering what has been discussed here before, maybe it's a sign of things to come, like a MILLION THINGS TO COME? Good luck TP

Stop being a whiny little bitch.
Everybody in the world makes that fold. He wouldn't have folded AA, like some people. If you don't leave the forum LIKE YOU SAID YOU WERE, I'm gonna have to request your name gets changed to BitchSwa.
