During the early rounds of a huge field low buy in at Party, in addition to listening to music, I'll also read these forums, surf around, whatever. I just don't need to pay that much attention -- wait for a premium hand, double up. Fold everything else. Rinse, repeat. But in my usual 2/4, it's a different story. There, aside from music, I'm usually concentrating (at least best I can) just on my table.

When I play online I almost always have some music playing. I've tried listening to my mp3 player while playing real games but found that it was more of a distraction/hassle than anything that could help me get into a rhythm/focus more etc.

I'll either listen to music, or I'll watch a football game on Sundays and Monday nights. Need some time filler in between folding hands.

Just playing on Empire right now and realized Jimi Hendrix's live version of All Along the Watchtower is a great song to listen to while I'm playing, I have no idea why.

i tried hte music during playing thing. its not bad if you listen to music that affects your mood to fit the game. for example, i just lost a pot, and was heading towards tiltsville, but then i cranked some coldplay and air, and it calmed me down.

When I play online I always have some music playing. I've seen people do it at some card rooms, but for me it'ld probobly be too distracting.
