From you How to play this hands, I assume you're a NL player.
My advice is too start out nutpeddling, just waiting for the big hands, play them aggresively but intelligently, and make some money off of those, and eventually open up and start playing more speculative hands, Hands that aren't great ones(suited connectors, lower pairs, and so on) but that will get you big pots when you hit and play them right. What might be happening is that your moving your aggresive(and successful) SNG style to cash games, and it is ending up being overaggresive for a cash game. Also, NL cash games are so swingy you might be playing fine but just not hitting cards (what limit are you at?). |

I am way more successful in cash games than tourneys. The blinds never increase and you can be patient and wait for a hand. If you are too aggressive in cash games, that patient player will be waiting for you. These are too different games. My advice is to play a little tight for a while.

I play .5/$1 NL blinds and $1/$2 blinds now. I am honestly a good player and i think this month i have played weak in cash games but Mainly- hit big hands when opponents have even bigger hands. I should probably be more patient, and maybe play better hands. But I've made alot of money playing poker and i think i know what I'm doing for the most part. I think this was just a bad month because i dont feel like my poker was bad at all. Things already started coming around, but i still think i am just all around a much better tourny player than cash player.

Why do you think you are a good player? I'm not saying you are not, but obviously you aren't stating this because of your results, so I'm curious why you say this.
In my experience, almost all poker players think they are better than they are (myself included, I'm sure). Great players think they are the best, good players think they are great, bad players think they are good, and terrible players think they are unlucky. It's a very odd phenomenon... |

I guess i just call myself a good player because i feel i can sit down at a table with just about anybody and never have less than a 40% chance to win honestly. Also, I invested only $50 into Pokerstars right when i turned 18 and have made close to $700 from that.
Am i a Great player? no, i could get much better, play more, and read up on the game more, but i still think im a good player all around. |
