i would like to play in a couple of events, but i would be much more interested in playing the smaller buy in, non nlhe events.

i will definitely work my way towards the series by playing in online satellites. hopefully sites begin to offer more satellites that can be applied to any of the tourneys, not just the main event.

Default Companies sending employees

I think companies should hold tournaments in their place. Then send the winner to the WSOP with a cap and t-shirt that has a logo of the company that send them; Good advertising, if the employee makes it on tv. I wouldn't mind wearing my company's logo.

i think that is what MAXIM did with that chick who went to the world series this year. she said she got in through an office tourney.

of course, she only limped into the money, and maxim took out costs from any potential profits she had, so she walked away with nothing but the experience of playing. kind of sucks, especially since MAXIM got a huge amount of free advertising to their exact target audience

Default Still good enough

I still think it was good enough for me to go. But where did it say that Maxi would take the cost out of her profits, is there an article out there? I thought they payed for the travel and lodging.

Nothing but the experience of playing .... that sounds like a great deal to me, just experiencing the WSOP and a trip to Vegas!

The deal she got was she'd have to pay back Maxim the 10,000 entry if she won that much (don't know about expenses), and I think anything over she'd split with charity. That's what I can remember from watching some feature of her on an online show.
