WTF were these guys thinking? I mean, regardless of what day they wanted to play, it didn't even cross their minds to register in advance?
Really? |

Is there some advantage to playing on day 1D? This sounds fucked to me.

I know a lot of people wanted 1C as they thought the online pros would be playing the majors. But I don't know about 1D.

I read something about this and it really does baffle me, I haven't and may never play in the WSOP but if the day ever comes that I do I will want to know that my seat is secure and that I'm in. there are 4 day 1's and I really dont see an advantage to playing on the last one unless you satty your way in and have to pay extra for accommodation, if you play day 1a and have to wait 3 more days to play again.
But the like of PA and TJ Cloutier really should know better. |

Arrogant fucks think they can just walk in 10mins before its shuffling up and buy in. Im soo happy they couldnt.
Idiots. Id register ASAP to avoid disapointment. Its not hard, and it takes less time than you think. Nh Harrahs |

ITs just the most appealing day.
no one wants to play Day 1A then have a 4 day break. Also people that work have to take off extra days/book hotels for extra time etc Day 1B is July 4th. Who the hell wants to play that That leaves Day 1C and 1D as the biggest draws....1D more so bc theres less of a wait in between playing days

Yeah, I mean, would you rather play 1A and wait 3 days to play Day Two? Or would you like to play Day one and Day two back to back?
It's gotta suck to be turned away from the ME with $10k in hand.

Even worse was a guy who showed up for Day 1D to play but then was told he had registered for Day 1A ... they were looking to see if his stack survived the day

Actually if you think about it playing 1a could be an advantage, if you get through to day 2 then you have 3 days to watch and get notes on players which you may not of come across, especially some europeans or asian online qualifiers that dont use PS or FTP.

So lemme get this straight. Instead of relaxing/enjoying Vegas during your three days off you would randomly pick a table during 1B study the players then hope that one of the players you studied both advances to day 2 and ends up at your table. Then for Day 1C and 1D pick a table and study it all day as well then hope that these players both advance to day 3 and end up at your table?
There will also be a boatload of players playing that dont regularly use FTP or Stars that arent euro or asian btw

Yeah ofcourse you might wanna enjoy vegas, but this is the main event and possibly worth millions to you, so doing your homework on other players might be an advantage i.e. noteing who's taking bigger stacks into day 2.
Players do get moved from other tables when they break so you never know who will be at yours even if they don't start there. |

jdiana hits a new low. I mean... W T F ? ? ?
As for this: The schedule actually goes: 1A 1B 1C 1D 2A 2B OFF 3 4 etc... So...., it's really a 4 day wait from Day 1A to Day 2A and then ANOTHER 3 days between 2A and 3. So if you play Day 1A, you've been in Vegas more than a week by the time you get to Day 3. Conversely, even if you play Day 1D, you still get a Day off before Day 2B and then another before Day 3. So that's why Day 2D was by far the most popular. Still, no excuse. |

Well that being the case, just strictly out of curiosity...
You play 1A, advance, so you have a few days off, will they allow you to sign up for any smaller one day WSOP events in between?

There are no events in between. This is the Main Event. It's the last event.
But if you want to play across town or something, go for it. As for thadeas 's nonsense about "studying players" during the off days, I think that is officially the least intelligent thing I have EVER seen posted on this board, and yes, that is including years worth of SWA, rookette, etc. Surely, he is leveling. I mean, no one - repeat, NO ONE - is that stupid/illogical. I just don't believe it. |
