I almost said this when I first saw this post but thought it sounded mean but you ended up saying it for me. I think these programs to see how unlucky you are are so stupid. People waste their time finding out just how horribly they run when that's the one thing they can't control, and who cares anyway cuz it'll even out in the long run. Instead people should be taking time wasted on this to try and improve their game.

I agree too, but I think being aware of how you are running is always a good idea.
1. Just because you are on a huge downswing doesn't mean you are playing badly. It certainly can (and often does), but not always. And on the flip side: 2. Just because you are winning doesn't mean you are playing your best (or even well). After each session or any time I am looking at recent results, really, I try to keep in mind how I was running compared to "average" and what I think my results would have been had I been running average. I don't think there is anything wrong with this. In fact, I think it helps you stay realistic about your expectations when you are running well, and helps you keep your head up when you are running badly. |
