I usually take some time off... or at the very least, mix things up playing different games for while (HU SNGs, Triple Draw, whatever).

I absolutely agree with playing something different.
A good while back I was running real real bad. I played O8 for awhile, came back and the doom switch had been lifted. About 10 days ago I was ready to quit. I played lhe for a couple days, started out hot, then went cold. Came back and had 2 pretty good days (for me anyway). It sounds silly, but just try it. Play something else for a couple days, maybe a week. Even if its micro limit stuff. It will sharpen your overall game, refresh you a bit, give you some perspecitive.........and of course reset the doomswitch!!!! ![]() ![]() GL |

That's great advice. If for no other reason, to help remember that poker is supposed to be fun.
So, I put it into preactice right away. I went out 3rd in a PL 5CD sng, which was sad since I would have monied in 4 different games at the same time. Just for the hell of it, I 4 tabled micro SNG's on two sites. PL 5CD -3rd ![]() Stud Hi -2nd 6 handed turbo NLHE -1st PLO High -2nd. They were just one table tournaments, but it was a good way to kick myself in the head and stop fretting about my BR. Godd times, Good times.
