There is a big difference between "24 hours" and "one day." I'm still as impressed, but not as much as I was before.
Even in the Vegas heat, a guy who usually shoots in the 80s should be able to break 100 twice in the afternoon and then two more times the next morning, walking the whole way. Cool bet though. I love high stakes prop bets. When I was playing with Joe Sebok a few weeks ago, he was telling me all about the prop bet he and Gavin Smith had, where they got in the ring with professional female boxers. I had read a blurb about it somewhere, but he gave me the whole story. Hearing him tell it was hilarious. Apparently, when they got there, they intended to actually fight the girls, but theie manager (or someone) refused, because they couldn't risk getting hurt... so the guy agreed to not hit them, and only TAKE the punches. Joe had to go first and got his clock cleaned pretty good. Gavin "being the bitch that he is" (Joe's words) went second and totally "cheated," blocking with his arms and half punching back with his blocks and that sort of thing. I would have loved to have seen that. |

not 100% on this....but I think he did it all in one day. I think his first round began at around 5:30 am yesterday.

According to Pauly's Tao of Poker blog he had to do them in succession on the same day and did so. Apparently on the 4th and final round he shot 49 on the front and had to sweat staying under 51 on the back (where he was averaging a worse score than the front), but pulled it off.

Good stuff - thanks.
Funy how the video tells a fairly different story than what {I remember} Joe telling me. I like the staring contest, but nothing beats Gavin having to get "JS" tattoed on his ass after this: ![]() Edit: LOL at Joe saying it's the best day of his life. |
