Live poker is easier to pick up a read on a player, with body reactions, more talking, less talking, etc.

Online you don't get that.... which makes it a bit harder.

Plus, live play is a lot less easier to NOT tilt (been there! LOL!)

Im boosting this thread back to the top -- with undeniable proof that live poker has worse players than online.

If anyone can show me instances which top these 3 I will be severely impressed.

These three hands occured within 90 minutes or so at the same table

HAND 1:

Player goes all in for his last $111 dollars (a $106 raise) 5 callers.

Flop comes 4 3 4

Player first to act MOVES ALL IN for $1700 into a dry side pot with 98o none of which was a club. Everyone folds. All in player turns over A4o for trips and scoops the pot

HAND 2:

Player raises preflop to $25, 2 callers. Flop comes K 7 8

Player bets $50, PFR raises to $200 next player smooth calls, bettor folds.

Turn A . PFR checks, other player checks.

River 2 . PFR checks then TURNS OVER HIS HAND K7. Opponent looks ta his hand and then bets $200

Now I understand maybe he is making a move bc he cant beat K7, so maybe I can justify a call somehow.... still I fold this.... does this player? No no no HE RAISES ALL IN FOR $300 MORE! Opponent calls with 5 4

HAND 3:

UTG player moves all in for $300 with 55 with $5 and $5 blinds. SB calls with KK and busts him

If this does not offer undeniable proof then I don't know what does

Those are some "strange" plays, yes. But have you ever considered that the idiots you play with would be just as bad (if not worse!) if they were playing online???

Maybe you have only proved that New Yorkers are stupid, and not necessarily live poker players.

These are the same players that say "it's impossible to win online, the play is too tight" and refuse to play online

Eh, maybe it's NYers ... certaintly not saying there arent some sharks in the clubs as well, bc there definately are.... but they are at least equaled out by super donks

Hand 2 was funny, and I doubt I can beat it.

Hey crazy,

When did he say that he didn't? In fact, I think he was saying just that and using this as a case in support of Live Poker.

Bingo!

The K7 genius, after busting out stated that he was about to go down to AC for the night -- I tried convincing him to stay for a while before leaving -- it worked nd he stayed another hour -- but I never got involved in a pot with him unfortunately
