Why do people feel the constant need to "learn" this here? I don't understand the lack of discipline.

I don't have this problem (I don't think I ever did, but I don't really remember way back in the beginning), but it is very, very, VERY common. It an interesting phenomenon with new players. I think they have their lucky hit, and then in their head, they think that will parlay THAT lucky hit into another one, and then THAT into another and so on... until eventually they go broke. A slow and steady approach is much less risky (there is no need to ever loss your entire roll if you are a winning player), but I suspect that doesn't have the same "thrill" for the gambling types.

Default I can answer this

I have all the answers to this.

1. some people like the action, the thril, some people cant see it as a long term game but want to win big and win fast. They play way above their bankroll for this reason.
2. Ok they take a bad beat and now they want it back and want it back NOW so they take their whole bankroll to a high game to win that one hit that will put them back to even.
3. Ok lets assume they hit and got back even, well they are like well that was easy lets try it again....bye bye bankroll.
4. I will admit i still slip at times but I'am alot better then I used to be.

anyone else that has this problem agree?

I can admittadly say i know what i did wrong.....i thought i was better than anyone possibly could be.....i was on a sick run.....turning 30 into 75 in like 2 hrs using .01/.02 NL and 1.20 MTT.....for some reason when i skipped levels i figured ide just go to the biggest possible level i could have the min bankroll for......i know its dumb as hell.....learned my lesson.....and another thing.....does anyone know why i dont have this problem live? is it because i KNOW my chips are valuable ???????
