X-Longshot-X 06-18-06 02:00 AM

okay.....and ur point is..............

PShabi 06-18-06 09:43 AM

Why do people feel the constant need to "learn" this here? I don't understand the lack of discipline.

Talking Poker 06-18-06 12:18 PM

I don't have this problem (I don't think I ever did, but I don't really remember way back in the beginning), but it is very, very, VERY common. It an interesting phenomenon with new players. I think they have their lucky hit, and then in their head, they think that will parlay THAT lucky hit into another one, and then THAT into another and so on... until eventually they go broke. A slow and steady approach is much less risky (there is no need to ever loss your entire roll if you are a winning player), but I suspect that doesn't have the same "thrill" for the gambling types.

BrianSwa 06-18-06 03:52 PM

I can answer this

I have all the answers to this.

1. some people like the action, the thril, some people cant see it as a long term game but want to win big and win fast. They play way above their bankroll for this reason.
2. Ok they take a bad beat and now they want it back and want it back NOW so they take their whole bankroll to a high game to win that one hit that will put them back to even.
3. Ok lets assume they hit and got back even, well they are like well that was easy lets try it again....bye bye bankroll.
4. I will admit i still slip at times but I'am alot better then I used to be.

anyone else that has this problem agree?

X-Longshot-X 06-18-06 04:23 PM

I can admittadly say i know what i did wrong.....i thought i was better than anyone possibly could be.....i was on a sick run.....turning 30 into 75 in like 2 hrs using .01/.02 NL and 1.20 MTT.....for some reason when i skipped levels i figured ide just go to the biggest possible level i could have the min bankroll for......i know its dumb as hell.....learned my lesson.....and another thing.....does anyone know why i dont have this problem live? is it because i KNOW my chips are valuable ???????

eejit101 06-18-06 04:26 PM

no, its not that, its because youve never played live, being 17:thumbsup:

BrianSwa 06-18-06 05:49 PM

another one

I can answer this one too, its easier to move around online. Live takes alot more to do. I suppose its more realistic live with the chips right there where you can touch them but I think the biggest problem is how easy it is to open a higher level tables. Takes all of what 10 seconds.

X-Longshot-X 06-18-06 07:34 PM

wow ur such and Asshat....i would love to play u heads up sometime
since ur talking all this shit

Talking Poker 06-18-06 07:44 PM

I'd rail, but how would either of you get money online??? :D

Would be kinda sad for you each to have to ask for a loan so you could go head to head.

I guess you guy could play for Play Money.

LOL..... Sorry, but that's funny.

eejit101 06-19-06 03:10 PM

Then ill roll that into a $10 with shabi, then a $20 with bdawg, a $40 with JD, an $80 with TP, and a $160 with isabella

eejit101 06-19-06 03:13 PM

Hang on, $5???

borrow $20.

Also i hope you realise that heads up is alot about super aggression, and if you look it up "eejit" is latin for super agression

Reel Deal 06-19-06 03:37 PM

I thought it was latin for little Welsh man with head up ass.

Talking Poker 06-19-06 03:55 PM

And here I thought it simply meant "Donkey." Man, we were way off base.

Edit: HEY!!! I was right! See for yourself:

eejit101 06-19-06 05:49 PM

that should say slang for a stupid person, and irish word for "idiot".

the names a joke, but you can take it literally if you wish for humourous value
