Exclamation Get PAID for Talking Poker!

Hello and welcome to the TalkingPoker.com Forums.

I created this board for a few reasons, but mostly because the other places that I look for poker discussion are being ruined by a bunch of idiots begging for money, spamming their sites, and/or flooding the board with bonus offers and whatever their latest scam is. It's not even worth my time to sift through all the crap posted on RGP any more.

I hope these forums become extremely popular with thousands and thousands of poker enthusiasts, but to help get things started, I've come up with a plan. For a limited time (at least through 12/31/04, and quite possibly longer), I am going to PAY you to post here. Here's how it works:

1. You get $5 just for creating an account.
2. You earn 10 cents for every post you make.
3. After you make 200 posts, send me a Private Message with your account name, and I'll deposit $25 in it for you ($5 + 200 x .10).*

That's all there is to it! Then keep posting away and keep racking up those 10 cents. When you hit your 500th post, you'll receive another $30 and when you hit Post #1000, I'll deposit another 50 bucks into your account. That's a potential $105 of completely free money, just for "Talking Poker."

All posts you make will count towards your total - All I ask is that you don't post a bunch of garbage solely for the sake of inflating your post count. If it looks like that's what you're doing, or if people start to complain about you, you're not going to get paid. I'm not going to scam anyone here, but you need to earn your money. Make quality posts, and you'll get paid.

You are under no obligation to play with the money I deposit into your account. You are free to cash it out immediately if you chose to do so. If you don't have a Party Poker account, you can create one here:

(Yes, my afiliate link is included there - hopefully I'll get a few new players through this to help cover the expenses I'm about to incur).

Happy posting!

-----
*Edit - It turns out Party has a minimum transfer amount of $50, but we still have plenty of options:

1. We can wait until you hit 500 posts and transfer the money ($55) to your Party account then.

2. I can deposit the $25 into your account. If you don't have one yet, I can give you a special link to use to sign up and also give you an added bonus - even more free $$ for you.

3. This is the best option, so I saved it for last. If you open a NEW account through my links (), make a real money deposit of at least $100, and then play a minimim of 250 raked hands, I'll pay you double what I owe you ($50 instead of $25) once I confirm you met the above requiements. And to top it off, will give you a 25% bonus on your deposit as well!

Good luck. I'm always looking for informative poker discussions.
I've played on 40 or so different poker sites and am always looking for
new ones to try.

So will this actually be a moderated forum or will people just be allowed to run amuck and wait for a chance to flame anyone and everyone like RPG?
Good luck

It's a private forum. Obviously, it's moderated.

It's moderated, but I think I'd like to keep it as censor-free as possible. If people want to argue, so be it, but unless they are arguing about poker strategy, it belongs in the Off Topic section. I won't delete that sort of thing, but I will move it to where it belongs so people looking for poker discussion don't have to wade through tons of garbage to find quality threads. Hopefully I won't have to.

Thats more or less what I meant, just hate to be part of a board where people sit around and jam the refresh button looking for someone to argue with.
Thanks and good luck with the forum.

Default Nice Job

This looks like a good forum to actually discuss poker. I got very tired of RGP and all the OT discussions and personal attacks.

This is, without a doubt, one of the best things I have ever heard about. The site is superb, the offer is royally generous, and hopefully the posts will be insightful.

Absolutely. I was mentioning it on RGP for the first few days, but so many people signed up and posted so much so fast, I thought I better cut back for a while

There's also currently a problem with some people getting the registration confirmation emails... I've been trying to get that resolved too.

But sure, you can do whatever you like. I'll ask that you don't spam it annoyingly, but if you like it here and want to tell other people about it, go for it.

this happened to me when i first signed up, i didn't get my confirmation for about a week, so people probably just haven't waited long enough for their confirmations to send.

After I learn my way around, I will hopefully be reading and posting. I will be putting up a link to talking poker on my web site this weekend. Very interesting concept.

You say here that you can deposit the $25 into an Empire account...
Is the min deposit there $25? And if so why is it different from partypoker, if both are pretty much the same thing?

I never understood this relationship. Are they the same company, but two different skins? Or are they run entirely differently, but using the same database of players?

I can answer some of your questions and only speculate on the others:

1. Yes, the minimum transfer amount on Empire is $25 - On Party it is $50.
2. No, they are not the same company.
3. Yes, they are different skins, pointing to the exact same real money tables (but with different multiple table tourneys).

Hello TP.

I joined yesterday and I can honestly say I didnt join because of your bonus sceme, I didnt even know about it.
I joined because I like poker and play every day, so to break my time up I needed a site like this were I can talk to other players, thus am not playing all the time but still in a poker community.

Anyway great Forum and good Luck.

Jim.
