Default What Do You Do With A WEENIE Roll?

Alright ... I've very frustrated that I don't have a comfortable bankroll. I have a weenie bankroll. From here on out (throughout this thread and all other threads) I'm going to call my weenie bankroll, "eggroll." I can't call it a "bankroll" without laughing, and I think eggroll suits it fine.

I made a $65 deposit about a week and a half ago. Maybe two weeks. I began playing CHEAP NL games to build the eggroll. I dunno about you, but these games are desperately boring. 5c/10c nl actually makes me want to kill myself. (This is, btw, the absolute lowest limit I will play ... LOL.)

So, after going up $10, down $10, etc, a few meager MTT finishes, I found myself right around $70. Then I began playing $1/2 6M/LHE. I know this breaks all the rules regarding BR management, but I don't have a BR, I have an eggroll.

I knew the swings could be ferocious, but I'm a gambler. Let it ride.

Over the course of two days, I got up to right around $114. Grinding up from $70, I'm lovin it! Last night wasn't so good. I kept getting chinned, and I'm sure you know the routine:

AQ v. A6 ... Ace on the flop ... 6 on the river.
My two pair gets counterfietted on the river.
My AK (K on the flop) runs up against AA.

I don't feel like I played anything horribly wrong, but I just kept coming up second best. All these beats caused me to lose just about half my stack.

So. Here I am. I have just about $60 on Stars... and I really don't know what to do with it. LOL. Any suggestions?

Here's what I'm kicking around...
1 ~ Sit at a full $2/4 game and hope for the best
2 ~ Sit at a short $2/4 game and hold on
3 ~ Play $10NL and try to build
4 ~ Give another shot at $1/2 6max
5 ~ $10+1 SnGs

Before giving your suggestion... realize this:
-I don't have a high tolerance for $10NL, but I can play it. It's hard to play this limit when you've played $2/4 NL before, ya know?
-Playing $2/4 w/ $60 is stupid, but it's a shot. I have no problem gambling. This isn't my life's bankroll, but if I lose, I'll just be out of the game for a month or two.
-SnGs used to be my bread and butter ... now, I can't remember the last time I played one.

Note: I welcome all comments / opinions from most people. Please, no stupid comments from stupid people... I'm not in the mood.

Default Turbo SNG's

6 + .50, damn easy money. I four table their 15 + 1 turbos to clear their bonuses, and make a decent profit in between. Play tight and smart, and you'll have no trouble pulling in a 50%ROI which is insane!

So, you suggest the $6+.50 TURBO SnGs? Why turbo? Why not regular?

going from a healthy bankroll to your eggroll is rough. If your really want to grind it out I suggest playing those low NL games which you hate. If you want to gamble go to the 1/2 short games because like you said they are very soft. If you go the later route though expect that there is a very good chance you may be writing a post next week explaining how you got busted out against a guy who hit runner runners or something like that.

I was never real happy with low limit sit and gos so I dont suggest those. I dont think you should take it to 2/4 because 2 hands and you might be busted out.

I like the 3 table SnG for about 5 or 10, its a little bit of gamble but with decent luck you can get yourself more than what the single tablers give you. And I enjoy them honestly, its like a MTT (technically i guess it is) except not so incredibly long. Oh, and dont forget the heads up matches. If you are a gambler these are good. I consider myself decnet at heads up and won quite a few there, like 80% but then I have evened out by bad luck and a little poor play.

3-table SnGs...

Heads up SnGs...

Hey Lou, have you considered bonus whoring on Casino sites to boost the bank roll? I think a few of us have done pretty well with that. Let me know if you're interested.

Turbo, because theyre faster, duh.
JK. I really have no patience for a full SNG at stars, they take way too long, sometimes up to an hour and a half. I play SNG's at party and noble all day long, they are my bread and butter. The turbos at stars fit into this timeframe of under 45 minutes at the MAX. This format also leads to fish, monkeys, and complete donkeys filling out the rest of the line up, looking for a quick buck. Expect all ins every other hand with ace 4 off and the like. Good fun if you can stand the occasional monster suckout Oh yeah, and they fill up fast, so it's easy to 4 table them, if thats your thing.

This sort of question has probably been asked many times....and yet people still give mediocore advice. For all low limit players trying to build bankrolls there's two words for you: BONUS WHORING.

There is literally thousands off dollars available for players. And a lot of them are suitable to people with low bankrolls. All you have to do is do a bit of homework and look for the right bonuses for your style.

For a player that has never played online poker, I could easily find them bonuses and affilate programs, eg. Talking Poker's $50 offer at Noble, to build a bankroll of $0 into over $1000 in less than a month if the player was able to play just break even poker.

As for playing which tables, go with what you enjoy. Even though you can build it up playing low limits, if your hearts not in it and you're not having a good time, you will a small amount and not enjoy it.

It's similar to me giving you 10 cents an hour to watch paint dry. Will you make money? Yes. Is it worth it? No.

So if every dollar counts towards your bankroll, then never play for free. There's always a bonus available.

The bonus whoring suggestion is a very good one.

Me, I'd take my 30 BBs and go play 1/2 short.... but that's just me. For YOU, I think maybe some low stakes SNGs might be the way to go.

Lou, you should definitely consider the casino whoring. It's quick EASY money. Scurvydog posted a great run down of how to do it in the spam section a while back and I've done very well with his outline on whoring. You should reconsider if you really want to boost the eggroll quickly with LITTLE risk. Just think about it...

Lou, pm me the sites you've already signed up for. Bonus whoring is without a doubt the best way to turn $60 into the skies the limit within a week or 2.

And more lucrative, less risk, and quicker clearance with the casinos then poker. Just my opinion though.

I hear ya Lou. It can get a bit repetitive and boring, but it's fun cashing out after a few hours (at the level I play poker, I clear 100 bucks much faster at the BJ tables).

I haven't done any casino whoring....but I've always assumed it was a lot less effort than poker whoring but with much larger variance/risk associated with it. I know there are a few like the IGM and 888 who's bonus are relatively low risk, but some of the other ones seem as though the risk of ruin is higher than what I would like it to be.

Are you just trying to stretch your weenie roll out until you can make a bigger deposit? If so, I think SNG's give you the most play for the money, plus they are pretty profitable. You won't get rich quick, but you won't go broke either. The other option is to play what you're comfortable playing and hope you don't hit a bad run of cards.

There is VERY little risk to busting out on a lot of the casino bonuses out there. Starluck, Planetluck, William Hill, Intercasino, etc all have fairly low wager requirements. If you bet the minimum, given the houses edge puts you around $90 profit for the 100% on $100 casinos...

I agree, but online casinos bust out a lot quicker than the poker rooms.

I guess I am? I mean - if I lose, then I'm done for a while. So I have to keep that in mind. That being said, I'm still not afraid to gamble it.

I'm not tryna make this eggroll grow to huge amounts, but if I were to get it above 200, I would feel much more comfortable. I didn't do too well late late last night... so I think I have like 55 now. LOL. This is silly.

I think I'll play a mixture of cheap SnGs, 5c/10c nl, and every once and a while I might sit at a $1/2 6m/LHE table - with my fingers crossed!

Because most people aren't disciplined enough to stick to the minimum bet. I almost busted out of one where i did that, but managed to get my head on straight and grind out the bonus with the minimum $1 bet.

Also, avoid the sticky bonuses (Golden Palace, etc) to start off with. I'm not trying to make any money off of anyone here. I've had a good experience with casino bonuses and want to help you boost your eggroll. The key is discipline, plain and simple.

Spidey, I understand the premise behind whoring casinos, and I may do so myself, however casinos take longer to clear, do they not? I mean, I 4 table at a poker site and in 3 hours I have my bonus.

Also, like I said, casinos online drop like flies. I don't hear of too too many poker sites that do the same.

In any event, whoring at poker sites is just such easy money. I will leave the office this evening feeling very confident I will make $100 US + this evening simply sitting down and playing about 500 hands. Anything I win at the tables is in excess.
