This happened across the street from my roomates parents house. I read it was a minimum $10k buyin and there were 27 folks...you do the math, thats a lot of money at the table.

Well another poker raid last night just south of atlanta. Fifty or so arrested
including a local judge. The police stated they were tipped from an internet site. Its crackdown time on poker but I guess meth dealers got the week off.

This says it all. You think they'd have better stuff to do, like get poor people off the streets, drug dealers behind bars.....solve world hunger.

They are using their manpower to break up card games?

The law makers in the U.S. have some serious reflecting to do.

I suppose it's ok for teenagers to go to war overseas, but heaven forbid they gamble a little money.

Apparently they were keeping track on paper so that they wouldn't attract the buzzards. But that is still a lot of "money" in the room. It's no Bellagio but still...

If you listen to the report they did say that they found quite a bit of drugs at the location as well and I'm thinking the police involvement/arrests had more to do with the drugs than the poker.
