I think your comment about the Raptors is a little stupid considering in their previous matchup they held Kobe Bryant to his season low.

i dont give a shit who it was a against thats just freakin awesome. that would be like running for nine touchdowns in the nfl or hittin 6 homeruns and four of them being grandslams in one game.

Ill post what I posted on another forum:
Tonight he just went of for lots of points. And by lots I mean the second most points scored by any individual in a single game. Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points, but keep in mind this was in 1962 when he was by far a minority in the league for his race, but also talent, athleticism and height (disclaimer: I assume all these things). Kobe did this when this league is at its prime for talent and athleticism. 81 points. Michael Jordan, the greatest, never even scored 70...I think his highest was 69. Are we witnessing the greatest yet? Or is greatness measured by rings? __________________

Jordan is better than Kobe. He made the players around him better, was a true leader. Kobe is somewhat reclusive and doesn't make the players around him better. Yes, Kobe has 3rings, but there was some guy named Shaquille O'Neal playing with him when he won those rings. As soon as Shaq left, the Lakers struggled bad. If anyone can get the most out of Kobe it's Phil Jackson, but comparison's to Jordan are laughable to me at this point in Kobe's career.

55 in the second half, that is just crazy.
I personally think that this is tops Wilt's 100 point game. Back then regular scores were in the 130-150 range. Now its 90-105. |

It tops Wilt's game because he was so far above and beyond everyone else in the league athletically back then. He averaged over 50 pts and 20 rebs that season in 1962. That tells you something right there. Nobody has even come close to that since. But Jordan>Bryant by quite a bit right now. Only time will tell if Kobe can be better.

I think Kobe Bryant is more TALENTED than Jordan, however Jordan will always be more successful and is a better team player.
The thing with Jordan is that he was so revolutionary and very far ahead of the game. I think Lebron will be better than Jordan without out a doubt, however I don't think anyone will ever have the fame, significance, and significance that MJ had.

No. Wrong.
Examples of what areas he's more talented in?

Kobe is an amazing player but i don't think you can compare him to jordan. They were showing on sportscentre that Kobe had more points in that one game then rafael Arujo (or however you spell it) does in the season. I think Kobe is the best in the nba currently but when mj was around it was no contest

It's more than raw skill, even though Jordan still has a slight edge. It's about cutthroat mentality. Win at all costs. Jordan will never be equaled in this area.
The man would not accept defeat. He'd kill you rather than have you beat him in tic tac toe.

wow this isnt even close...
Pshabi knows from being a bulls fan that MJ would rather die than lose a game, he has a heart of a champion. MJ would dunk on his own mother to win the game if it was tied. Also Jordan was a more rounded player than Kobe, Jordan made players around him better while Kobe doesnt. MJ also played this thing called 'DEFENSE'... he was on the all defensive team aleast 6 times (if not more), top 3 in steals every single season. MJ didnt need to score 80 pts because the games were usually out of reach by this time by the bulls great defense. MJ would never be in a situation where he had to score 80pts vs a bottom feeder like Toronto JUST to beat them in double OT. |

It wasn't a double overtime game buddy.

Wait..... I'm just now really looking at the meat of this thread.
Is someone really suggesting that there is or was ever a human being anywhere on earth that could even compare to Michael Jordan on a basketball court? Say it ain't so. |

Consider this
Kobe won three titles with Shaq playing center. And you could easily argue that Shaq was the more important part of that equation.
Jordan won six titles with Bill Cartwright and Luc Longley playing center. There simply is no comparison. |

Forgive the young ones. They were in 2nd grade the last time Jordan wore a Bulls uniform.
Too bad I'm not joking. We old.
