Organizing a private tourney at a vegas casino
I was wondering how possible it would be to set up a private tourney in a Las Vegas casino?
edit: or rather mean how would i go about doing this. not sure if all casinos would allow you to film with your own production crew in there. Last edited by Wes; 03-08-08 at 03:37 AM. |

like a 1 table sng??
I THINK you could get that setup, as long as they get the rake/fee. If you call and talk to brush/manager I think they would be at least intersted in trying to help you out. Especially if you KNOW everyone will show up and pay, and you offer to send entry fee's for everyone upfront. IDK, I would just call a few places and try to set it up. fly me out, I'll deal!! edit: production crew??? Im pretty sure they wouldnt allow that. Try to set it up in a suite or something, I'm sure (mostly) for a little extra $ they could bring a table up, and provide a dealer. |

For a normal private game, call a few poker rooms and talk to them and see if they will set it up for you. If you are playing a $1 SNG, I wouldn't hold my breat, but if you are each buying in for $1000 and are willing to pay $80 or whatever the juice is, I wouldnb't be surprised if they would set it up for you.
If you are talking multiple tables, that's probably not going to happen. And neither is the production crew - not for a private tourney, I wouldn't think. Then again, money talks in Vegas, so pretty much anything can happen if you are willing to pay.... You could probably "buy" the entire poker room at the Palms, for example, and film there, just like any other legit show would. Are we talking hole cam tables and all that? Cause you'd probably have to provide your own tables if that's what you wanted. And no one is going to buy it. |

You should REQUIRE a player to blow a .08 before he can be dealt in. Blind him off until then.

Make it a rule that they get a pitcher of beer every eleven minutes until someone passes out and then start bringing them every seven miniutes....R.I.P Rodney Dangerfield. And really I can drink about 8-12 beers till I realize that I'm a lil'tipsy, my best friend who is about the same size is trashed after five. So how will "DRUNK" be determine?

It would actually be more fair to redo the breathalizers every 2 levels (30 minute levels). If a guy is under .08, he's dealt out until he gets back to drunk (minimum 5 or 10 minutes or something - like a penalty).
This way, it's each player's responsibility to maintain his drunkeness. For some people, drinking 3 beers would have little effect, and for others, it would have a LOT. Also, if I were playing, I'd be drinking the good stuff and not the shitty Natty Light you other posers would be "drinking." An even BETTER idea would be to INCREASE the required level of drunkenness every 2 levels with the blinds. ie, .08, then .09, then .10 and so on. That would be kick ass. Let each player drink whatever he wants, so long as he stays above the minimum level. Puking on the table or on anyone other than yourself should be a 10 minute penalty too. |
