I don't hate the call.

I do hate the turn check though.

Guy was tight preflop then a bit of a maniac post flop, I thought he defined his hand as a big pair and thought I could stack him if I hit a set. I don't always call a PFRR w/mid pockets, just sometimes depending on stack-size and read.

Give me your rationale for betting the turn... to find where I'm at?

I disagree, given the tight reraising range RD has put Villian on.

Putting Villian on TT JJ QQ KK AA or AK , then it becomes a CLEAR turn check IMO

- Opponent does not play AK this way o the turn if he's played it this way preflop and on the flop.

- If opponent has AA we're in trouble.

- If opponent has TT JJ QQ KK a turn bet folds him out. If we check it let's him either 1) fire the river , or 2) check and call our river bet

After running this hand through my head a couple times, does any hand other than AA play it this way and could anyone find a fold after his river C/R shove?

TT-KK isn't putting any more money into the pot unless he improves on the river. As for AK not playing that way, I would almost certainly check for pot control if someone cold calls a 3bet and then continues on this board (aka "I have implied odds with my obvious pocket pair to hit a set. Oh lookie here, I now have a set) unless he is a loose donkish type.

I think TT-KK does put more $ in this hand (at least some of the time) on the river either because, 1) a bad player wouldnt put you on an ace and think your stealing with a small PP since you checked the turn. Or 2) to beat busted straight draws like 89

So I guess it comes down to if AK pays you off more money than the times you lose to AA or get a bet called out of TT-KK.....

Just a Q ....with AK in this spot would you go into check-call mode for the turn and river though? or would you check call a turn bet and then fold to a river bet?

So what are you putting a person on if they cold call a 3bet preflop and then call an ace high flop? The worse I can put someone on is AK, or maybe a flop float if he is real imaginative, but I doubt that is the case at .5/1. With AK I probably call down, but each individual situation is different and I might proceed in a different route in real time.

WOW...

I totally missed that RD cold called the reraise.

I thought he was the original raiser and then called the raise

Im not sure how much of my thinking this changes, but I certaintly would look at the hand differently if i realized this from the beginning

It certainly looks like AA by the river, yes, but for 3:1 and the chance of him having AK or bluffing, well, it would be a really tough laydown. I think I go broke here too - just a little bit differently that you did.
