Splain me about the sitting with 400 at a $2k table, please. Is there decent reason to do that that I'm not thinking of? I suppose it limits your risk while "taking a shot," but why bother? Wouldn't that same $400 be put to better use at a 2/4 table?

There are definately tables where I believe it is higher EV to sit with 20bbs than it is to sit with 100bbs. And yes, I mean winrate not loserrate.

there are some really really good shortstackers in the game that make a good amount of money playing like this. Yes the general rule is sit with max all the time but its for the simple reason they do not get credit sitting short.

Brian Townsend was playing this guy the other day in one of his videos at 1k max NL and Brian hand 99 and made standard raise and dude instant shoved for like $250 or so, Brian thought for little while and was about to make the call and noticed guy was also shortstacking playing at his other table. Brian made the comment this guy must be a decent shortstacker to be playing same way at 2 tables (at least) and mucked his 99. That is why they do it, they get very little credit and use that to their advantage.

for sure-there are definitely some shortstackers that are legit. In some CR videos both GP(taylor caby) and b townsend will talk about 40putts who is a very solid shortstacker in some bigger games... he may raise with some speculative but when he's putting his money in its usually never anything but 99+ or AJ+... now i wonder honestly how profitable it is,but sometimes i shortstack to mix up plays/try something new, it truly is a way different attitude/way to play.

Also, statistically 2knl is my worst limit and I was down almost 2 buy ins at 1knl on the day, I decided to sit with the 400 and 2knl and if I busted it I was done for the day... worked out well this time but obviously not always like this.

Are you serious?

A. That douche is more than a moderate-at-best winner? What kind of numbers are we talking here? I've played a ton of hands with him and don't recall ever being impressed.

B. You shared a house with him? LOL.

You've got to be kidding me.

Is this all from short stacking 6 max games? Any idea how many hands?

That is amazing. I take it his "strategy" (whatever it is) doesn't work as well at the higher limits? I don't remeber for sure, but I think I always saw him at 2/4, sitting with $80.

Actually, I think his winrate is bigger in the higher limit games because they play more laggy than they do at lower limits which is what makes his style far more profitable. Also there are a lot of huge winners in the games that play so badly against him (aka never folding if he shoves 20bbs).

And he has been busto many times, so bankroll management is not his forte. He was playing mostly 5/10-25/50 with an occassional shot at 100/200 (and one shot at 200/400).

And like 99% of his profits came from shortstacking 6max games. He did full stack once at 10/20 because one guy kept opening for 1k like every other hand, but he dropped 8k there.
