Default Shooting Star at the Bay 101 - March, 2007

This is a tourney that I'd like to play in this year. It's the one where they spread out the "Stars" one per table and put a $5000 bounty on each of their heads. It always looks like a good time on tv. They also pay the chip leaders at the end of Days 1 and 2 $10k cash, and they are guaranteeing $1 million for the tourney winner.

The main event is 3/12-3/16. $10,000 buy in. They have super satellites and a couple of smaller tourneys leading up to it.

Anyway, has anyone ever been to the Bay 101 Casino in San Jose? Anyone have any info on this at all? I'm thinking I may make the trip out there for this this year. Anyone else interested in going?

Never been, but I sure would love to play in a big tourney. JUST ONCE!

Of course its a little above my roll
I think this is a WPT event, is that right TP?

If so, will there be sattys on the major sites, esp. Stars and maybe FT?

If not Bahamas, we are all gonna have a grand old time seeing you on TV at a final table of one of these bad boys sometime soon.

TP,

I played there in 2004 and it was a relativly nice casino. Seemed to always have 20-30 tables going on on the weekends. The had several limits going on, but I can't remember them now. I did not get to play in the shooting star.

I'd fly over for the party. I can fly Jet Blue into Oakland, which is about a 45 minute drive.

shabi and NG - This sounds cool. I'm by no means 100% sure about this yeat, but I'm definitely considering it.

I def need to hang out with shabi one of these days (you suck, you know), and even though I'm pretty sure New Guy doesn't like me sometimes, I'd love to hang out in LA a bit and see the poker scene there too.... so I wouldn't mind tacking on a few extra days at all.

As for satellites, some sites run Winner's Choice type satellites, so those should work. I know Full Tilt does, and UB has some version of that too - but they have a specific list of tourneys that you can enter, and I don't think this is one of them. Lemme check... Yeah, this isn't on the UB list, but I'm pretty sure the Full Tilt Winner's Choice would work.

Other sites (Bodog? Stars?) may run sattys as the time gets closer.

I can literally fly at zero's notice with Jet Blue for free, so it's all good. Sucks they don't go into San Jose directly, but whatever.

Mark its all good .I wouldnt invite you if I didnt like you. We dont alway have to see eye to eye for me to still like you so sqwash that idea.what should be done is you should fly into la and pshabi too then well hit the locals for a couple of days then we'll rent a shit heap and abuse it up to San jose and go from there.my work schedual is crazy sometimes (Entourage will be going by then) but if we set up some dates i'll be sure to clear them. He'll you guys could come by the set and check out the action there.the extras of the show are all 9's and 10's so its a good time.lots o time to decide.Anyhow the offers out there.

Well, I appreciate that. And honestly, that sounds like a lot of fun. I'm going to seriously consider this. I'll probably decide sometime after the Bahamas, so maybe we can talk then. Splitting up expenses 2-3 ways (car, room, etc) make this trip even more appealing.

I've never watched Entourage, but I love everything Hollywood, so I'd totally be down for hanging out around the set for a day.
