We should have a Heads Up tournament
I know this is coming out of the blue, however ub (ultimatebet) has a pretty solid Heads up system. You can request matches against specific people, and you will play only those people.
So, how it would work is simple. Everyone would pay a free of $10. Plus, the $5 + 0.25 rake fee per game. The winner takes the losers $5 (or $10 total) from the game (so you only need to win 2 games to get your tourney fee back). Tournament will preceed by the determined brackets. Brackets will be determined by the list of players. Once everyone is signed up, brackets will be determined randomly. Obviously, if there's a better system please do suggest. The winner of the whole tournament will receive all the $10 fees, or some kind of structure payout depending on how many people. What do you guys think?

We've had a few of these in the past, with mixed success (they sure we fun though - especially with all the side action). At the time, no site could accommodate us very well (we wanted the tourneys to be free too), and we ended up playing on Bugsy's Club. I'll have to look into UB, but it sounds promising.
Let's see how much interest there is. Remember - if U.S. players don't already have money on there, it could be a pain for them to get it there... at least for the near future. |
