Sometimes it seems like that right after one of these great runs - the next day i get hammered. Don't know if its a coincidence, selective memory, or if i subconsciously feel invincible and dont play as well.

Novice, thru experience, I would honestly say you just aren't playing as well.
I had a massive session last week, then the next day I thought I was untouchable, until I pissed away $77 before saying to myself that we'll even up tomorrow. Luckily I made it back.

I know it's not tomorrow but, the heat continued. Played another 4 hours tonight on top of the short stint this morning:
5h 45m of play on two tables +104 BB $624 profit for the day. Say what!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Yep, i believe you are right. I have actually considered slowing down (or not playing at all) the day after a big win. But, that is tough for me to do :-). Maybe i should just spend the next night playing a multi-tourney or something like that.
