Default Rumors of Party Points having value

Being a low-roller, I haven't received any emails from party since they abandoned their monthly newsletter last fall ()

But VIP's have been informed ...

The PartyPoker.com Merchandise Store: In early February, our PartyPoker.com Merchandise Store will have all kinds of great new items such as state-of-the-art gadgets from big names like Sony and Apple, branded chip sets, cards, books, clothing and even some Callaway golf clubs and other sports goods. Keep playing and we’ll update you in the next few days.**

It will be interesting to see what T+Cs they come up with.

Interesting..... Since I'm less than 48 hours from spending ALL of my points on a $100,000 tourney, making 20,000 points worth less than $100 (over 1000 people signed up so far) and dropping. That's less than a half a cent per point. Sure would be nice to know what the conversion rate will be with their new store.

You know, had I not gotten booted out of that freeroll the other day in such painful fashion (see Bad Beat section), TP, I would have PM'ed you to ask to play in my spot. Instead, I finished 10th, when the top 8 qualify.
I wasn't going to be around, and I was playing in the qualifier for shits and giggles (and, because, I had gotten that email, too). Just think. I could have saved you your 20,000 Party Points.

But you know what they say ... 20,000 Party Points and 75 cents'll get you a cup 'o jive at the Wawa.

so basically they are trying to screw all their good, regular, players out of the 100,000's of points before they open up their store which will actually have "real" stuff that you can buy with them? This pisses them off once that they laost their points to a stupid rule about having to play every month or you lose all your points, then adds insult to injury that if they had played 20 raked hands last month they could have got a free Ipod....Plasma TV....CAR!!! Smart!

Great marketing

Well, I'm still not registered for the freeroll yet.... I can, and was seriously thinking about it and then immediately (temporarily) closing my account and even telling them why.

But if there is cool stuff coming.... I dunno. Maybe I should hold off.

Does anyone have an actual copy of the email that was sent out?

With 2000 peole in today's $100,000 tourney and my 20,000 points being worth just $50 now, I've decided to hold off and see what kind of stuff they have available... if the rumors are true.

If nothing changes in a month or so, I'll play in another one of these big freerolls that I am sure they are bound to have.
