Taking a Break..
Well I busted out on a bad night. Made a few flushes that got beat by Boats, had someone call my TPTK All in Bet with a pair of 2's, and what was the turn? Yes, a 2. Is it just me who seems to get fucked every time? Oh well. I am taking at least a month break. Probably check in here every once in a while. I will be participating in the TP contest on the 27th, but that is the only Poker I am playing until then. Suck but I brought it on myself. Oh well. Somewhere along the line I lost something in my game and I guess I am just another fish. Perhaps High Stakes Tiddly Winks would work out?
If I do decide to comeback it will be after a month off, and I will buyin at $600. I am not dealing with the micky mouse crap you have to play with at the .50/1 levels. I think 600 gives me enough to play some 10/1 SNGs, 1/2, and 25/NL without having to worry about busting out for at least a little while. Maybe I can figure out what I have lost in my game during my time off. Better luck to you all. |

Sorry to here that.
Time off sometimes is not a bad thing. Wish you well in a month. I did this the other day and if you are not totally burnt out try it: Pick freerolls and have you a set of rules to go by. Mine were: Any two cards - Minimum Raise - Just because I'm tired of folding! Any A, PP's under ten, connectors - 1/2 stack in Any cards that equal 20, PP's ten and up, any suited - All In Fold to any raise before me, 1/2 stack raise if first in Had a blast! Highest finish....22 out of 361. Probably could have won, had a big stack but that was not the point 1st tournament-Second hand-AA-All In-4 callers....lost to 77! But it took 4 before I went out on first hand...KQs-All In-Beat by J9o who rivered straight. Man I REALLY enjoyed the suck outs. 75s took out AA with a nut straight flop, 42s rivered a flush, 85s turned a full house. It was fun being a fish! It was great therapy for me and now I'm ready to go so more.

1 piece of advice: dont base ur bets on % of ur stack, base them on big blinds and the pot size, you probably would have gotten a lot farther |

I am also in the middle of a break. Haven't played in nearly 2 weeks. I guess an awesome January didn't exactly carry-over. I dropped $100 US in 2 weekends centred around some massive suckouts, and decided to pull my money together in Neteller and wait for another deposit bonus/Empire sign up. I think I might be going hard on Empire this weekend though since they have the deposit bonus and I have plenty of dough. But a break is always good, since prolonged tilt can hurt more than taking a bad beat and getting stupid IMO.

I think I'm about to take a break myself...maybe not. I have just had the worst luck of cards. I finally get decent hole cards (QQ) and get beat by AA. I knew it would be too good to be true. I truly have had nothing to play with. Unreal. Good luck with the break!

Ya, they have it every month don't they?
I wish they had .50/1.00 O8B 6 max tables though. I like clearing bonuses at the lowest limit possible.

Yea, probably could have won the one I finished 22 in but the whole point was to blow off steam and have a lot of fun without wasting money. To be honest, I use to take $5 to the .01/.02 limit tables and cap every round till it was gone . That cost money though, so freerolls it became. I guess it just boils down to putting the fun back in poker and it sure did do that!

Everyone has hot and cold streaks. Sometimes when the cards are running cold, it's a VERY GOOD idea to take some time off.
Enjoy your break, and come back refreshed on the 27th... P.S. I find that reading poker books is a great way to spend my "break time" - the only problem is it will tempt you to come back sooner than later... |
