Default Back to Back for Chris

I know this doesn't mean much but it is kind of impressive. Chris Ferguson just went back to back and cashed in both FTP freerolls. He got 18th in the NLHE one and 5th in the Razz one.

Total for all his effort: $4

Default For the money

The more Jesus and others play on the site, the more Full Tilt is able to distinguish itself as the site where the average Internet player can sit at the same table as pros. If that succeeds in increasing FT's market share, he stands to gain a lot more than $4.

He must've lost a bet or else it was his turn to be the decoy and draw all the babbling railbirds and beggars from a meaningful tournament.

Im sure it wasnt him playing... he prolly had someone play on his name to do this so it looked like he was sitting with the average joe.

Obviously he doesnt care about the average joe since he is one of the seven who filed that lawsuit...

I've heard rumors from people working at Full Tilt that Chris wants to start over with his challenge where he turned $1 into 25K, except this time he wants to start with $0.

What does one have to do with the other? I mean, I can see the issues between the WPT restrictions and the online site's endorsement deals and how the players may not be comfortable with the restrictions, but how does the suit impact the average player who will likely never sign an endorsement deal with an online site or ever play at a WPT final table?

well I think the lawsuit is going to affect everyone in the long term so by them doing this it just shows that they are all out for themselves and dont care about anybody else.

It doesnt even have to be averages joes they dont care about, it could be other pro players like Negreanu who disagree with this lawsuit... the point is they are only care about themselves by doing this.

I've played $1/$2 NL with him on Full Tilt. I guess it could be someone playing on his username.

The fact that I have no problem with people acting in their own self-interest not withstanding, I don't see what effect this lawsuit has on poker in general. It's up to the corporate parties involved to find a middle ground. This suit is simply a jumping off point.

Some sports forbid the players who sign endorsement deals from wearing the logos of those firms during competition. Those would be MLB, NFL, NBA & NHL.

Other sports have no problem with having participants advertise the products they endorse. Those would be NASCAR & the PGA/USGA.

The bottom line is that if enough big names sign endorsement deals with online sites, it will be the WPT that loses. If enough avoid the side deals because of the draw of the WPT, the the sites will have to relax their contractual demands about wearing the logos.

Its competition in the free market and the court is the umpire.

That would be cool, and it wouldn't surprise me at all.

I don't agree with this. I think the Jesus and the others probably really do think they are acting in the best interest of poker by filing this lawsuit. I happen to disagree with them, but that's not the point.

As for him not playing in a freeroll himself (having someone else do it) because he doesn't care about other poker players and is only out for himself, that doesn't really make sense... Remember, the more he plays an interacts with people on HIS SITE, the more popular his site will be (in theory) and the more money will end up in his pocket. So, by playing low stakes poker and chatting with the aerage joe, he really is looking out for himself. If he were to get "caught" having someone else do it, that would destroy the integrity of the site and could COST him money in the end, so why risk it? Either play as yourself or don't play. Having someone else play for you and then going out and risking being seen by someone who knew you were supposed to be online at the time would just be a horrible business decision.

You are probable right about the seven thinking they are acting on the good of all players but I do disagree with the suit. I just see it as being pretty selfish because without the WPT, poker isnt what it is today.

As for Ferguson not playing as himself, Im pretty sure that Phil hellmuth was caught once on UB not playing as himself and having someone else play on his name so its always possible Ferguson could have someone playing as him and interacting with the people.
