2 for 2 in sports bets today.
I lose everything else in casinos this week, so at least there's football. Go Giants tomorrow! |

How well Belichick knows his opponent was underscored by one play.
Prior to this year, the Pats used the "fake snap over Brady's head, direct snap to Faulk" play in at least 2/3 of their games. This year I think I saw them use it once. Faking that play only works if you're very sure the opposing coach has prepared so well his defense will be looking for a play that really wasn't used this year. Not quite perfect, though. Missed field goal, and Rodney being Rodney. Garrard's very good. Faster than he looks and cool under pressure. Huge O-line and maybe the best special teams in the NFL. I still think the Pats have now played their toughest opponent. Give the Jags a pass rush half as good as the Giants' and they're a serious contender. Your boys have no reason to hang their heads. Oh, yes, and the Scots heather ale I was drinking made it a good game, too.

Yeah, I'm very happy with the team and their performance and their outlook for the future. Having Garrard step-up was a huge surprise this year and really helps going forward. We need to look for pass rush help for sure and I'd like to see them get a legit #1 WR in free agency (hello Chad Johnson?).
They needed to play nearly perfect last night and 3 blemishes did them in: (1) no pass rush, (2) critical drops, and (3) two turnovers. GG. I'll be in complete shock if they don't win their next two. Oh, and nice choice on the beer! I was having Sam Adams in a failed effort at a reverse hex.
