60 Min. Piece on Poker
Anyone catch it? I thought it was pretty fluffy myself. How many of you play the players more than you play the cards? It seemed to me like the pros that were interviewed put a whole lot more into instinct/tells than I normally do. But, all of my playing is done online or in home (nofoldem) games where the math is more important than the reads on the players. Thoughts?

I'm not a big fan of tells myself, especially when you are playing online, or at the friendly neighbourhood drunken game.
Stick to the math and the odds won't lie, your bankroll will increase.

Not to pick nits, but online tells compared to the tells you will encounter at "your neighborhood drunken game" are completely different. If you take advantage of all the information available to you (at these types of games) you can make more that you would if you just played based on math.
Some people are novices and their tells are simply by-the-book. Others try to be tricky - and they just wind up doing the opposite on purpose. Again, these players aren't too difficult to pick off.
