Bluffing in low limits

wanted to get your alls feedback on bluffing in low limits, I think I might already know the answer but give it to me anyway.

I try never to bluff in low limits like .25/.50 because you will usually get called but I have done it once or twice when I was pretty sure I would get a fold and or course any limit under .25/.50 I would seldom do it because there is a good 90% chance your getting called. If any low limit players out there let me know what you opinion is on this and for you high limit players try to think back when you played low limits and let me hear it. I know Lou plays the $25 NL tables so really like to hear his opinion.

I don't want to sound like too much of a dick here, but you need to invest in a poker book and read it. Check out Brunson's SS2. It's great so far - well worth the investment.

My general rule of thumb for bluffing: I hardly EVER do it at this level because of the reasons you stated, but, there are situations where a bluff could certainly win the pot. I would ONLY bluff when I'm last to act and there are 3 or less players who've checked to you. And, of course, you sufficiently feel that the flop / turn / whatever missed everyone.

If you want to beat $25NL, don't be the one making the mistakes ... let your opponents screw up. All you have to do is take advantage.

Bluffing in low stakes = BAD.

Bluffing in 0.25/0.5 limit = VERY BAD.

At low stakes, it's only possible in NL and you have to observe a player's patterns before even trying it.

thanks, I do plan on getting SS2 I loved his 1st one and can't wait to get into the 2nd one. I have read a couple poker books and I knew the answers they give but wanted the opinion of the people on here since I respect the opinions of the users on here very highly.

Actually if you ever play O8B, it is very common that I will bet into a pot on the river and make people chasing the low draw to fold if it doesn't hit. I have won countless pots in .50/1.00 with absolutely nothing simply because a low draw has not come.

You've read the books and you know the answers, but you want people on here to tell you what they have read in those same books too? I don't get it. I think we're all in agreement that the people who have written the books know more than we do, and generally, for basic stuff like this, it's good advice.

SS2 rules, but for low limit questions, I would highly recommend Lee Jones' Low Limit Hold'Em book:

WLLHE is a good book, but SS2 would offer better advice to the NL player.

I havent read it yet (planning to tho) but Harrington on Holdem Vol. 1 Ive heard is one of the best books ever written on NLHE. Ive heard nothing but positive comments on this book.

As for Harrington, yeah, I suppose I need to read that one next. I've heard a lot of good things too...
