Full Tilt Iron Man competition
This has to be one of the best promotions in on-line poker especially considering it gets hardly any notice whatsoever.
The idea is you collect FTP points on a daily basis to get into one of four freerolls at the end of the month, nice thing is you can't just play a ton of hands one day and pile up tons of points and get in, you have to accumulate a certain number each day to qualify. Example, you can get into the second level (silver) by getting: 200 points 15 different days 100 points 20 different days 50 points 25 different days There is Bronze, Silver, Gold and Iron each with qualifications like the above, the highest being IRON which needs 200 points each day for 25 days. Now the freerolls are actually worth playing in, last month the Gold level had around 250 players, I believe 90 got paid with the smallest payout being $80+, not bad I think. It gets better becasue each of the winners of the four freerolls face off in a 4-player SNG the next day for a winner take all $5000 prize, again, not bad. The winner not only gets the 5K but goes on to play three FTP pros heads up and if you beat one of them you get another 5K, beat two and get 10K, beat all three and get 50K unless you were also the winner of the Iron freeroll, you get 100K! Your status updates about every 10 minutes through your cashier window so you know exactly where you stand. I have tried to qualify for this for this month, but playing low limits honestly means you have to play a ton of hands, I have been playing PLO8 $25 and $50 and a bit of $25 NL HoldEm and I should be in the Gold game, though falling short on points playing up till midnight twice put me behind so I have to play each remaining day this month at 200 points each day to make it. Also if you play on rakeback there it really adds up trying to do this.

This is the first month I've paid any attention to this. I can earn the required 200 points in less than an hour of three tabling $2/$4 NL. I've already qualified for the Silver freeroll and should have no problem getting to Gold. I can't make Iron, because I have yet to play a hand on a Saturday this month, and I missed the first four days of the month too.

Cool, hope to be at the same table in the Gold game because I plan on getting in the points required.
At the levels you play it's not nearly as tough as it is at the level I play, but I like the idea of rewarding players for playing almost every day. When they post the different freerolls take a look at the Iron one, the payouts are very nice for a freeroll, it's 30K I believe with less than 300 players and 90 cashing I think. I know you'll be in Vegas with bigger fish to fry for August, but if you commit to trying to get in the Iron game for Sept I will too.

about the iron man challenge. I don't know specifically what the payouts for each place is, but at a 15K prizepool for the silver freeroll, I would estimate 1st would pay around 3K.

Should be easy, so sure. Remind me on 9/1.

Given everything I know about your play - where you are playing, the quality of your opponents, RB, etc - this isn't worth your time, IMO.
