Default Another FFL QB question

And it may indeed be a stupid one.

I have Peyton Manning, so my general thinking is that QB is a no-brainer all year, but....

Keep Peyton in at Denver against their D

or

Gamble with Delhomme at home against the screwed-up Cowboys?

or Favre at home against the Cards.

when you spend a high pick (1st or 2nd rd pick) on a QB, something I would never do, You've got to ride out your horse no matter what the matchup is.

So I would go with Manning...

but if you dont ride out your house, I would go with Delhomme.

Why Jake? The 'boys might be screwed up but not on the defensive side of the ball. Favre has no WRs, stick with Manning.

You got a 3-sided coin? I don't think any of these guys is a bad play this week.

Manning is Manning and is a good play any week.

Delhomme is good as long as Smith is healthy. Smith wanting to show up T.O. may add to his value this week.

The Packers' offense is dinged up, but I like Favre in this game (probably the biggest risk/reward pick of the three).

I agree with Quint. Favre could be a good play but has huge risk. No risk no reward though. Manning will probably get normal stats and be steady and Delhomme could do good aswell. If I was you, I'd probably start Favre or Delhomme, leaning towards Favre.

Denver will be run happy this weekend, and Indy's run defense sucks, which spells ball control for Denver. Manning will be lucky to fire up 35 attempts this weekend.

Favre will be lucky to throw half as many TDs ad INTs.

I could very well be wrong here... You're right about the matchups. I guess Favre has just turned me anti-Favre lately, and Manning is Manning! Sometimes I think people overanalyze and I think this could be one of those times. That's all...

With the talent Favre has around his, he hasnt been doing that bad. Hes only got 5 INT so far this season compared to last years 29. He also has 9 TDs. Also If he has a good day ussually it will be really good stats because they will have him throw it 40-50 times a game. But on the otherhand, Green is coming back through and they might start running the ball again, which also could open up the pass game lol. Sorry if confusing.

Good point, But this was an off-line multi-list draft. You order your picks by position and pray.

Default No guts, no glory

I was on the verge of just leaving well enough alone on the strategy that my opponent has Marvin Harrison and keeping Manning in would offset any points he would get that way, but then was struck by thye thought that this would be playing not to lose rather than playing to win. As it is, my opponent's QB is Rivers and I have Antonio Gates, so that should take one weapon away from him.

Bottom line is, my best running back, McGahee is on a bye week and I need points. The point about Dallas' D was valid, I think, so I'm going to really gamble even though I fear Favre is potentially a Willie Mays-like end of career embarassment, his stats against all but the best pass defenses he's played (Bears & Eagles) are right up there with Manning's and I think the Cardinals are a dead team.

Looking for many Lambeau Leaps by WRs on the highlights today.

I forgot it was a offline draft... if it was a live draft, I would never waste a high pick on a QB.

Since its a offline draft, you are pretty much just praying to get some good guys.

good luck with farve today.

I obviously can't handicapp games for shit, but I'm not a complete fantasy idiot either.

Favre had an ok day, at least.

Three points.

1. Favre gave me pretty much what I wanted.

2. I obviously never thought Manning would have close to his season's best statistical day against Denver's D. Favre gave me more points than I thought Manning would.

3. My opponent had Ladanian Tomlinson, who went absolutely wild. Had I started Manning, I'd still be 11 points behind going into tonight having to make up that deficit with 2 players (Chad Jackson and a Minn DB whose name I can't remember) vs, 1 player (a Minn WR). As it is, I have 24 to make up.
