Default Funding Online Games

I tried funding an account on PartyPoker with 3 credit cards which were all declined (due to US laws?). How are you guys funding your accounts and on which sites?

Neteller
Firepay

Most credit cards do not allow you to deposit to poker (or any gambling) sites. Debit cards are not much better (although some are supposed to work, most don't).

If you have a bank account and are not in Maryland (I think it is Maryland ) then Neteller is the way to go. You can get free transfers to/from your bank account (if you are willing to wait 3-4 days-If you want it instantaneously there is an 8% fee for the transfer).

If you are in Maryland, Firepay is pretty similar (I hear at least, I use Neteller).

There are other ways (look at PartyPokers list of deposit methods that can get money directly from your bank account/debit card and put it in your poker account. Even if it is just an imagined comfort, I personally like the buffer that Neteller provides between my bank info and the poker site.

Thanks. I know what you mean about the buffer. The 20% bonus for IGMPAY (direct deposit from your bank account) is tempting, but I think I'll try your suggestion.

BTW, it does take 5 days or so to get the Neteller thing set up. They have to send a couple of small deposits to your bank and then after they get there (3-4 days) you verify the amounts and then you are all set.

Then you will either have to wait another 3-4 days to get your first deposit to Neteller for free or pay the 8% to get it right away.

Ok, thanks for the heads up. Not a good option if you've "got the fever!" LOL

Sounds like the same procedure as setting up a Paypal Verified account.

While I use Neteller as well, I used to use IGM Pay at Party. There's no reason you shouldn't use it.

Party is the only site that uses the IGMPay thing. Its very nice and its instant. I can't remember if you have to set anything up, you may have to, or maybe its just that the first deposit using it takes time im not sure. If you are only playing party, there is no reason not to use IGMPay, you just cant play on other sites using that method, neteller is pretty much used by everybody.

A while ago, I opened up some rake back accounts and stopped playing at Party. However, I still would return for the reload bonuses.

A lot of other sites do not have IGM Pay, so I needed a way to fund those sites. Also, I have plenty of bankroll online. There's no reason to deposit more money at Party while I have plenty of cash on other sites. Neteller makes it easy to move $$$ from site to site. Good for bonus hunters.

If you've got "the fever", I think one of the party deposit methods is to buy an online phone card and you're able to immediately tranfer the balance onto party. It used to be free, but now comes with a 2 or $3 service charge, but that's not horrible if you put a few hundred down.

I haven't checked or used it since getting IGM, this method might be gone now.

I've also used both. No problems with either. I did set up what amounts to a "poker account" at a credit union so that if something did go crazy it would just be that account.
