Zy will be so proud of me...
I'm going to play in a live game tonight for the first time in ages. $2/$5 blinds and a bunch of Drs. playing, or so I was told.
I wonder if they will rape us as much with the rake as they used to (10% up to $15 per pot). |

Good stuff! Win big and get paid by donks.
On a side note The rake has gotten a little worse at the clubs I go for the big games (two $35 time pots per half first 2 pots over $250 [translated $7/per half per player], plus $5 rake per hand $50 pot min). With all the action though it's not that bad

I was told we'd be starting at 7 and "this time we really will be" - unlike the old days when they never started close to on time. "These guys are Drs. They'll be on time." So I got there at 7. Because I'm an idiot.
At 8ish, the 5 of us who were finally there (including the two guys who live there) played a $20 turbo freezeout to keep me from killing myself out of boredom. It was a shove fest in the end, and I finished second, winning my $20 back. Yay. We finally got under way around 8:30 or so. $2/$5 blinds, $100-$1000 buy ins. Most people bought in for $300-$500, so I bought in for $500. There was one good player there (I played with him years ago), who actually makes a living playing live at the freaking dog track. I didn't think this was possible. The was ONE Dr. who was exactly as you would expect - loose passive, chases tons of hands, etc. 100% fit the stereotype I had in my head. There were a couple of "normal" players - decent, but nothing special - and the one guy was too tight. And then there was Joe, who arrived completely stoned and feel asleep no less than 95 times during hands tonight. The Dr. and Joe were sitting directly to my right most of the night. There were a few interesting hands - I wrote them down and will post at least two of them tomorrow. I finished up almost $900 for the night. |
