Hi-Steaks season 5.
saw HSP season 5 episode 1 on youtube last night. I'd provide the link but it no longer works. Anyway, I don't watch a lot of poker so I am not a good judge, and maybe I was in the right mood, but Gabe Kaplan had me rolling. Every thing that guy said was either spot on insight, fucking hilarious, or both. And I love the little teaser of getting him into the game soon.

Anyone watched the durrrr hand in the second episode? Probably going to be one of the most talked about hands in poker for a while.

I know Daniel runs like shit on HSP, but I thought he played pretty poorly in last night's episode too. I don't see how he needs to go broke with JJ that one hand against David B. I mean, yeah, there WERE lots of random draws and crap he could have, but there were tons of hands that have Daniel killed too, and David sure seemed very confident about his hand.
At least to me, but then again, I could see that he was holding quads, so that probably helped. |

He runs bad but he also make a ton of terrible plays. Loose passive isn't a great style. He must not be as flush with cash as previous years.

the JJ hand isn't that bad IMO, the A8 river call against Greenstein was fucking god awful.

Actually, that's the play I was thinking about that I remember being really bad. And the hand that he totally gave up (verbally) with his A8 when the turn J made the board AKQJ was pretty bad too. He could have outplayed Eli there if he wanted to, but his mind was so set on how badly he was running, that he basically announced he'd be folding to any stab at the top.

What do you guys think about Daniel talking during the hand where Eastgate accidentally threw in the 25k chip?

That was terrible. Absolutely terrible.
I realize it just came out and he said it without thinking, but there's no excuse for a guy like him to make a comment like that. I think he would go apeshit after the hand if the roles were reversed. |

Is anybody else bothered by the spelling of this thread?
Every time I see a new post in this thread I think to myself, what type of steak are we eating tonight? |

I don't think this is a spoiler-
I can't decide which is worst, Greenstein's speech after that hand or Daniel N's chatter after that hand. Love him or hate him, Dwan displayed a lot of class. I think I would have throttled Greenstein for choosing that moment to pimp his charity and I definitely would have stood on the table and kicked Negreanu's head in for those chippy little comments. |

Completely agree.
I don't care what your BR is, getting sucked out on after playing your hand perfectly and losing over half a mil is gonna sting anyone. ANYONE. |

The "flip" between Barry and durrr was one of the sickest hands I have ever seen.
Cliffs Notes: Barry = AA durr = KQ Flop comes Qx24 They get it all in and were the deepest two stacks at the table. Nearly $1 million in the middle. durrr says he will run it more than once if Barry wants to. Barry declines (as per his usual) but says, "Want to each take back a couple of hundred thousand?" Durrr says no, and they run the cards. I won't spoil the results - you'll have to watch if you want to know. Seriously though, I still can't believe durrr is ok what is effectively a $200k coin flip, by turning down the offer. Wow. |

just the amount of money involved was completely sick.
After Daniel N walked out, Doyle B can be heard saying something about a big baby and he needs to act like a grown man. Was he referring to Daniel N? |

Did he really? I totally missed that. I have trouble hearing their table banter a lot of the time...
