Default Betting Info

I rember reading in cardplayer a while back an artcile on how the mind works when bets are place. Say you wants some on to call and you want to bet around a hundred. The best move woul be to bet a close amount like 96 or 97. Are brains usually process in the way the we see this number being alto more affordable then 100. You could do the same if u wanted a fold . Bet 105 instead of hundred. Are nrains would take this as a much larger nemuber. I porbably think most you will disagree with me on this one but I have tried it out a couple it has worked for me. I just wondered if any of you guys have heard about this before or have tried it.

i would say that works, but only against the amatuers. thats because a smart and a pro player will recognize what you are doing. the pros know more about poker than you think, including this little kind of info. so if you bet like 105 the pro will think that you are bluffing and call, if he has a good hand, if you bet like 98 he will think ur trying to get some money out of him and fold, if he doesnt have a good hand.

You think my man above you has to worry about pros? Do you need to worry about pros?

What experience have you had that gives you such insight into pros, professionalism, and other facets of proism that are unknown to my piddly little ass?

i am not saying it has to be a pro. i am saying that a smart player can catch that too. i also try those kinds of bets, but i mostly catch my opponents bluff when they do it on me.
it was just my opinion

Its kind of interesting but it can be easy to pick up. The only fun thing to do is bet like that when you have a hand and confuse them. Bet 105 or w/e with a good hand and they think ur bluffing and then you can end up winning alot of money.

We've talked about this here before, but I often bet in somewhat uneven increments.

Check out this thread for more info on what I mean:
