Default Tilt!!!

I love putting people on furious tilt.

For example I was playing a SNG before and check-raised with nothing a few times and showed the bluff every time.

One hand I limped in the SB with 27o, with only the BB and I in the hand. The BB (a fairly standard rock who had a low chip stack) checks. Flop comes AAJ. I check, BB raises by about three times the blind. He's got a jack for sure I think to myself (no way he limps in position with A-something). I call the bet instantly, hoping to increase his opinion of the strength of my hand. The turn is Q. I go all-in, he quickly folds and I show my 2-7. The player went on super-tilt, and filled the chat with profanity. The same rock then bet all of his chips on the next hand with middle pair at the flop and crashed out. Tilt! Tilt! Tilt!

However after this point, I couldn't buy a pot. I think this is an even better situation -- players begin calling with anything. I went all-in before the flop with KK, and got called by two weak hand: A5 and 33 (although I lost to both hands).

Does anyone else get satisfaction from putting people on tilt??

In related news, everyone should check out the antics of Phil Gordon & Co at .

I enjoy anytime I can make someone throw their unnecessary, hard earned money into a pot and lose it, preferrably to me. I feel like I am following survival of the fittest, with that food chain garbage. Crappy player equals crappy bet equals more money for me.

I would rather do it with chatter than to show bluffs. I'm not going to give anyone any reason to call my raises. I will chat to everyone at the table, though, whether they talk back to me or not. I won't criticize peoples' play, but usually find something to argue about. Anything to get them off their game.

I had a guy try that once. He was telling me I was playing all wrong, etc etc. We play on pokerpages, so I checked my rankings and his... I was only maybe 1% behind him. I told him as much, he was all "no need to get defensive".

I ended up the month ahead of him, but I was content with my performance that month either way. And he certainly didn't tilt me - he busted out of that tourney way before I did. But maybe that's what he was trying to do, tilt me.

I'm not exactly a model, but it's not the usual stuff that tilts me. Criticizing my play isn't gonna get me to play the way you want to please you or because I'm pissed off. Maybe I'm too hard headed or too much of an individual.

Another tourney (RL) I was at a table with this guy who kept doing the Annie Duke/Phil Hellmuth TOC thing. People would fold and he would show one card. Every time I would immediately start saying "Oh my god! I'd better tilt! I'm freaking out!" Come on, quit being a douchebag and play some poker... I'm not falling for your crap. I play the hands worth playing. If I fold, I have a reason. After 2 or 3 times doing this, he finally explained to another player that he was doing that because of Annie/Phil. *eyeroll*

If there's one thing that does really annoy me though, it's the people who get to the showdown and then flip over one card. F that. Flip over both cards and announce your damn hand. Somebody paid to see it, show it and get out the way.

Default yep

I play 2 tables min. at a time and on one I'll be silent and on the other, I'm a couplete moron. I basically just spout off anything that comes to mind and I'm pretty witty in general so I usuallly come up with some funny stuff.

No name calling, criticizing of play though. I'm basicallly just spazzing out, singing, and acting a fool. What really helps is if during that time, I get a few middle pairs in the pocket and raise and then muck with nasty flop. Or if I raise late with AJ and the flop has a Jack and an overcard and I raise and then fold to a reraise or fold on the turn. huh?

Anyway, a few hands early like this and people won't lay down a thing against me. That coupled with the constant chattering SOMETIMES titls people and makes me money. Other times it's just a whole lot more interesting than sitting there.

Its alot easier if you have someone talking/helping you. You can start up an argument and other people will get pissed off by one of your opinions.

...dont be bashful, im constantly critiquing everyone's play at the table, and they start to play nervous once i put them on their hand every time i fold... you should want people to respect your raises more than you should want action; if people fold, you win. if peopel call, they still have a chance to beat you. this is kind of a stupid theory but anyone who plays partypoker on a regular basis can appreciate what im talking about; also, if people think you're super tight they'll try bluffing you a lot more and you can call with weaker hands... a friend of mine won a $600 pot the other night by calling an all in with ace high, because he used this sort of pattern on a guy.

Well, I don't go out of my way to put players on tilt (other than showing the occasional bluff and making the occasional comment). I really hate it when people start to go after me (on the table), it becomes more difficult to put them on a hand. That's why when I see someone's about to go on tilt, i try getting other people involved in the 'critiquing'. Hopefully he'll ignore me and go after them... I'll be there to pick up the scraps.

Cheers,

Gutzz

sorry mixed up threads but you did say only reason you played 2-7 was because on tilt then you said you played it because of your implied odds but you went all in pre-flop you have no good odds pre-flop stop contridicting yourself please.

*sigh* I have no idea what you're going on about. Next time, please use sentences.

BTW, 72o is a hand with great implied tilt odds (ITO).

I believe more in the Sklansky school of thought. I want the fish to stay in. If they fold, I can't get any more of their money.

I've 'accidently' put people on Tilt cuz they thought I should have folded my crappy hand on the BB instead of checking it, and ended up beating them cuz the flop was more in my favor then theirs.. cracks me up, cuz they actually say, why the hell did you play that... i normally don't reply, but I am thinking, 'cuz you were dumb enuff to let me'. Doesn't happen often, but truly is funny when it does... these sort of people are prolly on Tilt before they even start the game tho....

I almost never chat at all, never. Not even a ty, when i turn up the nuts. I also ignore most all chat. If someone is being a moron, talking chit, I will put up the stats window for awhile. I dont want anything else on my mind except playing my game. I dont think the other BS is worth it, although of course it can work for some people.

Chatting helps me in my quest to stay pretty tight pre-flop. Since you are folding quite a few hands, chatting helps pass the time.

I agree... you can also pick up a heap of information about players (e.g. if they say "folded my queens when the ace hit and you bet into me"). Plus I think it's kind of cool to put a personality to the name.
