This may be my goodbye post to the forum (though some seem to think I have made others).

I am very near the point, if not past it where I am deciding I just can't do this. Sportsbetting almost seems to come easy to me these days, but despite my best efforts, and the efforts of mass donkeys, I just can't make it.

Past 9000 hands AA -$147.16 is that even possible?

Screw it, maybe I'll see some of you at the betting windows from time to time, but either I am just too unlucky to do this or just ain't getting it.

9000 hands is NOTHING.
If you are going to quit, then quit.
Why not go into pokertracker, and go through EVERY hand with a fine tooth comb.
There is a "How should I have played this hand" on this forum, and on many others.
Post any hand that you aren't sure if you played correctly.
Pay close attention to all the hands that you lost large amounts on.
Did they suckout? Did they have the odds to call? Did you misplay it?
Pay close attention to all the hands you won Large amounts on.
Did YOU suckout? Did YOU have the odds to call? Did THEY misplay it?

Chances are you still have ALOT to learn.

Remember, Nobody likes a quitter. Well, Not sure if anybody liked you to begin with, but quitting never helps.
Why not take a break, and STUDY?
It can't hurt.

Without seeing specifics, nobody here can comment on your actual play.
How about this:
Post EVERY SINGLE A-A hand in your database (seperated by level).
Losing that amount, leads me to this guess though:
You are either letting people in too cheaply when you hold AA, or you are not raising anything but TOP hands and are winning small pots with AA.
Also, are you able to fold AA when you run into a bad flop, or turn?

Oh, I've been thinking about it myself for about the past week.

But then I got 5th in a 10+1 at Bodog (probably would've had top 3 at least if I hadn't had a brief brainfart period at the FT), and I remembered that I don't have to be Phil Ivey, I just need to be better than the low-limit dorks consistantly enough for variance to even out.

to be honest, i dont think ur being honest with yourself.
you just havent put in the hours, or learned enough about the game.
i know you realize you aren't gods gift to poker or anything, but if your consistanly losing you probably aren't quite as good as you think.

giving one particular hand and saying its a loser over 9k hands, and u might just be too unlucky for poker are both ridiculous.
9k hands is nothing, and if u overvalue AA its pretty easy to be a loser with the hand.

Very good point. Sometimes I think we forget this, I know I do. I seem to fall into this in the blinds. I try to get 'creative', 'tricky', etc. You know how it goes. Flop 2nd pair and lead out, or check raise, whatever. I seem to blow a decent amount that I have grinded out in the past half hour, playing like the donks I curse up and down at.
It reminds me of a great quote I read from J-Dags. Something to the effect of "I didnt get rich by playing against Daniel Negreanu, I got rich by playing against donkeys".

Personally, I've never felt the urge to quit, but that doesn't mean I haven't gotten into a rut here and there.

1) The AA stat is telling. You must play NL, because I can't see AA being that much a money burner over 9K hands at limit. It says you can't accept the fact that postflop, your AA is JUST ONE PAIR unless you flop a set or a monochrome board of one of your suits.

2) Every poker session you play has to end with an evaluation session, where you either review hand histories or at lease critique your own play. Honest self-examination is crucial. Here's a big point. Much of the time you think your opponent is a fish who shouldn't have stayed in - you're wrong. When you reveiw hands and begin to understand that, you learn to better evaluate the strength of your hand.

3) When I get in a rut, I change games. Drop down a couple of levels and play some stud. Believe me, you'll learn more about playing poker from limit stud high than from almost any other form of the game. Stud exercises your brain more than Hold'em.
