Default Party Steps.

Mini Steps, that is.

I little drunk a few nights ago, I tried out a mini-step, starting off with Step 1. I come to find out it's just easier to buy directly into Step 2, but whatever.

The first time I played, I got 2nd. What the fuck! This gives me another entry into Step 1. I tried it again for the second time tonight. Got first, which lets me play in a Step 2.

WooHoo.

I can already tell this is going to be a LOT of poker for $6.

Anyone else like these?

If anything they should make you a better SNG player overall and not just because of the amount of play you get for $6 but because it should be good experience at 4 and 5 handed where going into turtle mode just to make the money will do you no good whatsoever. Alot of people do not do well profit wise in SNG games because they flat out can't play 4 handed, or 5 handed, or heads up for that matter, what a better way to learn than with something on the line.

Also, just watch a Mini-step 5 game sometime, it's not your typical SNG at Party. Alot of them get to level 5 or 6 before anyone busts out as opposed to being 4 or 5 handed at that point in a regular SNG. With 5 spots getting paid instead of 3 it seems people are trying to limp to the money from the word go.

Also avoid getting into a step 5 game with players Win4life, yououtdrewme, and Iheartfish, they buy directly into the step 5 games and always sit together. I am certainly not accusing them of colluding, but is just got my attention to see them at so many step 5 games one after the other sitting together.

Just found it interesting that they were always together. Something to watch out for especially with the payout structure of the step 5 game:

2000, 1000, 500, 300, 200.

I'm not sure spendig 1200 on buyins is worth colluding here considering someone has to finish as high as second for it to be profitable, but then again how hard would it be to get somebody to second place with 3 people working on it?

I agree that it does seem weird but alot of the same Sharks buyin into the same SNGs because thats what they play.

Also on Stars you got like Gank, JohnnyBax, Teecoy, etc in 1 $500 or 1K 1 table SNG and I dont think of collusion. You just dont recongize those people like you do the stars people.

I'm assuming that the Step 1 strategy differs from Step 2. In fact, the strategy should change, but I didn't play my Step 2 yet, so I don't know how the other players approach it.

Most likely, I'll be giving it a shot tonight, during the peak time.
