You have to create his account on a different computer. I would try the library or another friends house that doesn't have pokerstars.

Just email PS saying that your friend wants his own account ...and they'll give it to you ...simple as that ....gl

Unless I'm missing something (which I may very well be), I don't understand what the computer has to do with the account. Pokerstars is an application loaded onto a PC. When its executed it connects up to the Pokerstars servers without regard to username. When you attempt to enter a table/tourney/cashier - you have to log in using your pokerstars credentials. Naturally, you *both* can't be logged on at the same time on the same PC....in fact, you can't have 2 machines connect to PS behind the same NAT'd address. If you figured that out - let me know please. =)

Again - I'm confused, a user account, as far as I know is not specific to a machine. I would expect someone (say TP) to be able to access his PS account via my machine without any problems. This just sounds very strange to me.

Yes ...but if you email PS support and ask them if you could open another account for your friend they will allow you to do so...mind you...you will not be able to play at the same time but he will have his own account ....

Most sites will do it...
Mrs. ChipFish has an account at PokerStars also.
They won't allow you to play at the same Table (Cash game)

You have to email support....
As was already said.

Hmmm... if you have Windows XP on your system then you have "carte blanche" to any amount of accounts you like ....and if you have 2 computers then yes you can be logged on at same time.....

and i so hate the cheaters that do this ....but i've only seen this happen in play chip tables that 2 users in same household could sit at same table...I think they have better security on real money tables...

hope i cleared things up for you

I googled it and found nothing other regarding to what I *think* you are speaking off.

Provide a link to this application or something that explains this application to which you refer.

Thanks.

has absolutely nothing to say about your "carte blanche". 2 MCSE's and 1 CCNP have no idea of a "carte blanche" feature on *any* windows system.

The fact of the matter is this: If you are NAT'd out 1 IP address - the public world will only see that one IP address and thats it. Nothing will change that (short of a proxy) The NAT device associates the internal IP host to the public address to which it is NAT'd via a port # which is how a return packet knows how to get to host A, B or C on the inside of the network. If *this* is what you are refering to - it has absolutely nothing to do with Windows.

I'm only suffering because I'm trying to sort through what you are saying.

doh ...i have no idea what you just said there.....lol

"carte blanche" means unlimited access/ control.... i use the word all the time maybe it's a french thing lol not that i'm french mind you but....anyway ...has nothing to do with what i was saying about Windows XP and you won't find it by googling it either lol

do you even have Windows XP on your PC?

No...

I'm running Windows 3.11 for WorkGroups on my Apple2E. I think that is where my confusion lies.....probably not enough processor.

I'll get back to you when I sort it all out.

Is this really the place to be discussing hacker/warez issues?

I wasn't talking hacking/warez, just NAT, however this thread morphed into a discussion of some mythical application that doesn't exist IMHO.

I would like to clarify though that I was wrong on one of my points. You can run multiple PC's with PS from an internal network that is routing out one IP address. In regards to not being able to have multiple accounts on one PC, my head is still spinning.

who's talking about hacking anything ?

If you really want to know how you can get other PS accounts just pm me ok...and it's only good for Windows XP users.

I didn't know chatting about Windows XP stuff would be illegal on here lol

I think my husband and I had the same issue, Chrisash. He had set up PStars on my computer for himself, then when I later tried to create an account it would give me the error you mentioned getting. We tried everything including uninstalling and when that didn't work checking the registry to see if there was something left over.

Finally, we figured out what to do, and I think the solution is what rookette is referring to. We use XP so I don't know if this will work with other Operating Systems. What we did was created another user profile on the computer (you know, so that two or more people can use the same compter, but have different logins). There I set up PS again and was able to sign up for my own account with no issues. I then got rid of the separate user profile and returned to my original one and was able to log into PS, again with no issues.

Hopefully this helps.
