So far it has been a great season what do you guys think the top five teams are in the NFL and who do you think should be MVP.

For My Top Five I Choose:
1. Colts
2. Sea Hawks
3. Bengals
4. Giants
5. Bears

For MVP: Shawn Alexander

Hear's my top 5:
1.Colts
2.Bengals
3.Chargers
4.Giants
5.Jacksonville (when leftwich is healthy, if he's not i'll say the redskins)

I'm still not sold on the Seahawks and Bears. I think they are overrated and have a lot to prove (like a playoff win or a win over the colts this weekend for seattle), before they make my top 5.

MVP: It's hard to go against Peyton, however I think Tiki Barber should get it if it does not go to Peyton.

1. Colts: They are the best team in the league right now.

2. Seahawks: 2nd best team right now, I dont see them melting down like in years past. They are maturing and getting better each season, this could be the year.

3. Patriots: The defending champs are starting to heat up at the right time once again. Nobody in the AFC wants to play this team in January, nuff said.

4. Bears: Defense is always the biggest reason teams win championship and this defense only gives up 10 pts a game so if they can do that in January and get any kind of life out of the offense, they could be going to Detroit.

5. Bengals: Best up and coming team in the league this year, one of the best overall teams in the league.

MVP: Shaun Alexander... He is the best RB in the league this year. You can make a case for LT but Alexander has 23 TDs, 1700 yds with 2 games left. The Seahawks wouldnt be in playoff contention without him.

If only Leftwich didn't get hurt I think we could have surprised some people in the playoffs, with Garrard we have no shot and if we go to NE w/him as the starting QB it will be ugly.

DA Bears.

Grossman will spark the offense and the defense is staggering.

Reminds me of the Baltimore team that won the title with Dilfer.

...the CHARGERS?? They arent even goingf to make the playoffs, they play down to their opponents (come on they lost to temas like THE DOLPHINS?!?)... they are the 3rd best team in the league? Thats a joke... I dont care if their margin of loss is 4 points or whatever...it comes down to winning games... miami? philly? Geez the barely beat the Jets!

Jacksonville? The same team that needed a 4th quarter comeback to beat to BROWNS? The same team that almost lost to the 49ers?!? They barely edged out the titans and the jets? AND THEY LOST TO THE RAMS?!?! that was WITH leftwich....

The chargers wont make the playoffs, jacksonville wont make it out of the 1st round

How are you going to slam the chargers after their performance over the Colts. They are incredible, inconsitent yes but definately top 5.
You are also contradicting yourself in your post. You say the jags are bad because they almost lose games and then you say that no matter margin of loss winning is all that counts. So maybe you should work on your arguments. And most of the jags struggling has come when leftwich has been out and i said they are only top five when he is healthy. Just wait and see.

Bottom line, a top 5 team does not lose games to the rams, the dolphins, the eagles, and struggle against arguably THE WORST TEAM IN THE NFL.

The Chargers will not make the playoffs -- how can a top 5 team not make the playoffs?

The Jags will lose in round one...

Hey!! This is also the team that beat the Seahawks, Bengals and Steelers (when Leftwich was healthy) and gave the Colts all they could handle at Indy in week 2. With Leftwich under center I still don't think we're quite a top 5 team yet, but we're close.

Yes, it would be, if the Patriots were half as good as the Colts. But alas, they are not.

Oh, what could have been.

I predict money will be flying around this place for that game.
